Rns 510 Sd Card Error
I first tried a 2Gb card loaded with tested mp3 files, I received an error message saying the card could not be read. I then tried a 1Gb card with the same files which worked fine. After some detective work, I discovered

the 1Gb card was formatted with the basic Windows FAT file system whereas the 2Gb card had been formatted with the later NTFS file system. Reformatting the 2Gb card to FAT and reloading the files proved successful. If you experience problems with card read failures, checking the card format to make sure it is in the windows FAT file system should be the first step before blaming the card/multimedia system. Now to see if I can get the system to play 4Gb SD cards . sd card error please check sd card vw __________________ Carer for my partner's Eos 2.0 TDI DSG MY09 Australian specification - Candy White/Cornsilk Beige leather trim. Posts: 208 Totally does away with IPODs' and CD changers in all cars really. That is a really good tip as I had the same problem in mine.I thought it was the way I installed it. I had the RCD 500 Satnav and upgraded to the RCD510, I have just formatted the card and it works. Reader Woes - How to Resolve Recently, I have upgraded the rather plain RCD 310 head unit in my MY2011 VW Polo 6R. The standard stock radio that comes shipped with this vehicle (unless you are unlucky enough to get an S line in which case an even worse 210 rns 510 sd card not working version comes with it). I managed to get myself the RCD 510 head unit offebayfor a decent price vw sd card format when compared to what the VW dealers would offer for the part. And best of all, this one, unlike my original head unit, has DAB - have rcd510 sd card format yet to make myself an aerial to get that working but will post once I have. In case you are wondering "Why did you get a CD changer when you could have instead filled your car with a SatNavunit or a SatNavunit with a DVD http://www.vweosclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1853 Player unit built in?" I could have yes, however: The RNS 310/315 has to be the biggest pile of crud VW came up with. It fits a double din slot just like every other RCD/RNS unit (built in units of theToureg, Phaeton, the Discovery and Composite Media systems of the Golf MK7 excluded) yet on this model they decided to cripple it with a 4in screen and pointless confusing extra third jog dial and 2 "soft keys". Worst of all, to use the Navigation you have to forego the SD http://themarshall-journal.blogspot.com/2014/08/vw-rcdrns-sd-card-reader-woes-how-to.html Card slot and use only the built in CD Player, Radio, or the MDI if your vehicle is fitted with one. The interface is woefully dated despite trying to copy the rotary look of theiDriveand inputis a frustrating experience. And an extra Aux input is the most redundant feature especially considering even the Polo S comes with an Aux input as standard! The RNS 510 is a more competent unit than the 310/315 owing to the fact that maps can be loaded onto the internal hard drive for a much more responsible route calculation. It does gobble up 18GB of space but at least that leaves the SD Card and Optical Drive free for music (trust me, you donotwant to run the maps off the optical media, go off route and god help you. Ask any MFD2 owner!) However the early models of this unit lacked DAB and support for SD cards bigger than 2GB, making music copying onto the internal hard drive a very arduous affair. And yes the optical drive is DVD meaning I can watch DVD movies when the vehicle is stationary, however it is only a single deck slot. No big deal if you are a Golf/Scirocco/Passat owner with a CD Changer in the armrest but Polo owners don't have this capacious armrest to benefit from such luxuries. And if the Polo owner like me is a fan of multi disc Ministry of Sound or Pure Garage albums, this isn't ideal. As an aside as well, it is worth noting that the RCD510 built in changer is able to support CD/CD-R/RW and MP3 discs wit
