send some data back to the server. It is returning status code 0. This is apparently not a valid HTTP status code (they should be three digits according to the official specification). (BTW, I tried unplugging the network connection and got status code 17003 or something, which I think from a lot of googling means "DNS server lookup failed".) It works fine for me and some other people who have tested it from different locations. However, I have sent this over to the client and they have recieved an HTTP status code of zero, and the HTTP responseText is blank. The client has tried it from two locations but both within their corporate network. This is an HTTP POST to an HTTP URL on the Internet (not a file:// request which I understand also would return status code 0 for success under Mozilla). I'm pretty sure this is a failure code as it should return some confirmation as the responseText, and we are not getting the data recorded in the database. ajax http httpresponse msxml hta share|improve this qu

For example, when debugging my site with Visual Studio, if I have stopped the debugging session, any request that tried to connect will get net::ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED and the status code will be zero. That makes sense, since you can't have a status code if you can't connect to the server that's supposed to be providing one. –Triynko Dec 7 '15 at 20:12 add a comment| up vote 57 down vote Another case: It could be possible to get a status code of 0 if you have sent an AJAX call and a refresh of the browser was triggered before getting the AJAX response. The AJAX call will be cancelled and you will get this status. share|improve this answer edited Apr 27 at 16:14 dm295 2,2433520 answered Sep 27 '12 at 12:56 mnk 1,118811 4 Thanks for pointing this out, it led me to realise that (as well as a browser refresh) a form submission can cancel the ajax call. –Magnus Smith Feb 27 '14 at 17:34 add a comment| up vote 13 down vote While this is probably unrelated to dashcode, this StackOverflow question comes up when googling jQuery and an ajax status code of 0, so I thought

HTTP Status Codes The following table outlines the HTTP status codes and the actions that CloudMailin will take. Status Code Examples Action Taken 2xx 200 - OK, 201 - Created Message receipt was successful. 4xx 403 - Forbidden, 404 - Not Found, 422 - Unprocessable Entity The message will be rejected and the sender will be notified of this problem. 5xx 500 - Internal Server Error, 503 - Service Unavailable The message delivery status code 0 will be delayed. Custom Error Messages You can send a custom error message when you reject a message by making sure the content type of your response is set to text/plain. This text will then be sent as part of the error message given by the server. This error message will also be stored within the Delivery Status of the message. You can use this to debug any problems that might occur at your server along with your own server logs. Custom Maximum Size Message Since sending a message larger than the allowed maximum size doesn't send a request to your web server you can set the message that's returned to your users as their email is bounced. Clicking on the 'Customize Message' button within the address page allows you to change this message. © cloudmailin.com

It has always worked for me, the rest of our development team, and almost all of our testers.
