The app was working fine earlier, but now it seems iam getting this error after refining my app ( some UI changes 0nly) 1) When I start the app I (usually) get: Application Error - The connection to the server was unsuccessful. Ionic Android Emulator The Connection To The Server Was Unsuccessful
could'nt find a perfect answer or solution. As in my case it was working fine till my last changes. android cordova share|improve this question edited Sep 27 '14 at 21:36 Community♦ 1 asked Sep 7 '12 at 14:10 user1654414 add a comment| 10 Answers 10 active oldest votes up vote 46 down vote accepted As you said, there are many duplicate questions on the same topic. Any how explaining your situation. The problem might be solved by adding a timeout to call your index.html ie you need to add super.setIntegerProperty("loadUrlTimeoutValue", 70000); in your activity.java file ( inside src/com/yourProj/--/youractivity.java) above this line: super.loadUrl("file:///android_asset/www/index.html"); Explanation: This can be happened due to the following reasons The core reason: the problem is likely due to the speed of the emulator so the network is too slow complete the communication in a timely fashion. This can be due to: Your code/data/image is of too much of size ( I guess in your case you are using some images ,as you said you made some UI modifications, may be the size of images are high) Your script may have a infinite or long loop, so that it takes too much of time to load. You will be using too much of scripts (jQuery, iscroll, etc etc.. more number of plugins or scripts ) share|improve this answer edited Aug 11 '

(Timeout) up vote 3 down vote favorite 1 I've am getting this timeout from trying http://stackoverflow.com/questions/12319809/application-error-the-connection-to-the-server-was-unsuccessful-file-andr to load my local index.html file and I cannot figure out how to increase the timeout time from the default 20 seconds. I have seen posts where people use the following lines in their droidgap extension, onCreate method: super.setIntegerProperty("loadUrlTimeoutValue", 70000); super.loadUrl("file:///android_asset/www/index.html"); But even doing so, the app still times out after just 20 seconds. It takes longer than 20 seconds for that index.html file to load because it is using a window.open (inAppBrowser) call to fetch a http://stackoverflow.com/questions/18819824/cordova-3-0-application-error-the-connection-to-the-server-was-unsuccessful-t remote resource. Is there a new place where the timeout is set in cordova 3.0? I'm migrating from phonegap 2.3, where this issue didn't happen. cordova share|improve this question asked Sep 16 '13 at 2:57 kcgolden 300211 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 3 down vote accepted Check this link. For me it was a case where we had to do a lot of ajax stuff when the app started up. Often (very regularly, but not every time) this would then seem to interfere with the low level "app is launched and running" signal to Android (Cordova?). And then the app get's killed with the above error after about 20 seconds. So launching with an almost empty index.html and then getting that to re-direct to the real page - that seems to fool all the parties involved into believing the app is fully up and running in no-time flat. share|improve this answer answered Oct 16 '13 at 6:57 demaniak 874717 1 Just a follow up on this: since about Cordova 3.5, it is possible to adjust that timeout via the config.xml file. see the api docs –demaniak Jan 6 '15 at 8:21 add a comment| up vote 0 down vote For me, the cause was a missing js file on the local container side which was not accessed until the

(file:///android_asset/www/index.html) I'm getting this error only the first time the app runs after being installed. Subsequent runs are fine. I run codePush.sync(null, { updateDialog: false, installMode: InstallMode.IMMEDIATE }) on deviceready and resume. Environment λ ~ → node -v v5.7.0 λ ~ → code-push -v 1.10.0-beta λ ~ → cordova -v 6.1.1 Edit: I've only experienced this on Android - not on iOS. Flavor screenshot Microsoft member lostintangent commented Apr 29, 2016 • edited I believe that error can indicates that the app took too long to startup. Are you already using a splash screen? If you remove the CodePush plugin, does this error go away? We try to make sure we have as little impact on app start as possible, but it's possible that something is going on here. Also, could you list out the Cordova plugins your app is using and their versions (via cordova plugin ls).
