(no ISA). It worked for last year. Recently, we got many users and clients reports saying they receive “FTP Folder Error – An error occurred opening that folder on the FTP server. Make sure you have permission to access that folder – The connection with the server was reset”. The Event Viewer lists ID 1- User administrator at host x.x.x.x has timed-out after 120 seconds of inactivity. The solution we have is using active FTP instead of passive (details here http://www.chicagotech.net/troubleshooting/eventid10.htm ) We have tried to re-configure the router (Cisco 830 and also tried D-Link DI-704P) and open more ports like 20, 1034 or higher. We also tried to remove the router from the picture and use the Windows 2003 connecting to the Internet directly with firewall for the test. But still get the same issue. I think it may be Windows AutoUpdate installed some security patch. Does any one know how to fix this issue on the server? 0 Question by:smith9069 Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 10 Best Solution bydnojcd Do you have any other firewall on windows 2003. like ICF ? have u checked FTP with any other ports other than 21? In the server, if I try to access the FTP in https://forums.iis.net/t/next/977299 the FTP server, I receive this error: An error occurred opening that FTP server... If I uncheck the Use Passive FTP in IE, I can access the FTP folders without any problems (details can be found on http://www.chicagotech.net/troubleshooting/eventid10.htm ). So it must be some settings in the server. Any sugegstions? I've done this before, so I'm surprised how much trouble I'm having. I'm getting the error:[Connection manager "FTP Connection"] Error: An error occurred in the requested FTP operation. Detailed error description: The connection with the server was reset . I've tried to FTP via Internet Explorer 6, and it works fine. I've tried going into the "FTP Connection" and putting in the password, and clicking "test connection"... works fine again.Any ideas for me to troubleshoot? I've shut down the package and re-opened it, but to no avail. I am having the same error but with my FTP task in SSIS but the error does not happen all the time. The package is scheduled to run every ten minutes.
