2 Go to Page: kibby10 2 posts kibby10 Ignored Apr 4, 2014 1 Copy URL View Post i set up compatibility mode, running as administrator , and i still can't get my diablo 2 on battle.net. i tried patching through your guys support page and it said "The program was unable to find a file required for patching." have been trying to get this game working for a couple weeks through tech diablo 2 battle.net is unable to properly identify support and they got nothing. anybody got any tips? :( Omrakos Support Forum Agent 43259 posts Omrakos Ignored Apr 4, 2014 Copy URL View Post kibby10,First, remove any compatibility options you've set.Patching through our support site just downloads a file, it doesn't do any patching. You run the file after downloading it.http://www.blizzard.com/patches/Once you have the file, assuming the game's been installed properly, it will locate it automatically based on a registry entry. To be sure though, go ahead and move the patch file into your game folder and run it from there. When executing it, first right click on the file and select the option to run as an administrator._________________________________________________________I'm available in the forums Monday - Friday, 11 am - 8 pm Pacific TimePlease provide feedback! - https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Omrakos kibby10 2 posts kibby10 Ignored Apr 5, 2014 2 Copy URL View Post okay so i followed the steps and the program says it can't find "Bnclient.dll".i already uninstalled and re downloaded off discs should i just try it again? I have look on the Blizzard Support website, but it's out of date, claiming that I need a CD in the tray. However, I have downloaded the game from the Battle.net website. http://us.battle.net/en/forum/topic/12405970526 Anyone have any ideas as to what the problem is? (installing over network due to no cd rom drive or some other craziness). also found this, you might try this first before reinstalling: I'm having a bit of a frustrating problem, and seeing as it is a holiday I cannot contact Blizzard's tech support directly. I have (LEGIT) digital downloads for both D2 and LOD from Blizzard.com, so it can't possibly be a pirating issue. I had lost my CDs/Case for D2 so I bought a digital download, and I registered my LOD CD-Key on the Blizzard website to get the digital download for it free of charge. After installing both without a hitch, I noticed a rather irritating issue that I'm hoping can be resolved. When I attempt to run D2:LOD by using the Desktop shortcut, I get the error message "Battle.net is unable to properly identify your application version". What's VERY odd about this, is that if I attempt to run D2:LOD directly from the INSTALLER, I do not get that error at all. Does anyone know why or have any experience with this? I'd like to be able to use my desktop shortcut (primarily because I want to play in windowed mode by adding -w to the shortcut) and not have to start up the installer every single time. Tha

For the past week or so, it ran perfectly both online and offline. Currently, it still works for offline play. However, when I try to connect to Battle.net, I get an error message saying that BNet is unable to verify my application version. I tried reinstalling and repatching and it still gave me the same error message. Any idea of what could be wrong and how to fix it? However, it's alot older than a week so I find it strange that you have this issue all of a sudden. Make sure you got the 1.11b patch or just try downloading it again from Blizzard's site and reapply it. You'll now need to run D2 from the Diablo II directory - something that wasn't necessary before. Code: #!/bin/sh cd ~/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/Diablo\ II wine "Diablo II.exe" Last edited by AntiRush; August 15th, 2007 at 06:25 PM. Ad
