MAPI call ‘OpenMsgStore' failed with the following error: The Microsoft Exchange Server computer is not available. Either there are network problems or the Microsoft Exchange Server is down for maintenance. The MAPI provider failed. Microsoft Exchange Server Information Store ID no: 8004011d-0526-00000000 This could happen if any of the Databases (Mailbox Store and Public Folder Store) are inconsistent. There are several ways to recover from this problem. Few of them are: (1) mapiexceptioncallfailed unable to mount database hr 0x80004005 ec 1032 Restore the Databases from backup (2) Replay the logs files to recreate the Databases. Also known as Soft Recovery. (3) Repair the Databases using Eseutil command. Also known as Hard Recovery. It is known as Hard Recovery because following this process may cause some data loss. Always Consider options (1) & (2) before going for Option 3. Also remember to take a backup of your databases before you go for options (3). STEPS: (For the purpose of simplicity we have kept default naming convention for logs, databases and their path.) 1. Let’s check the location of Exchange databases, log files and chk file. (a) Look for the BIN directory where your Exchange is installed. Usually this would be located under “C:\Program files\Exchsrvr”. We use Eseutil to repair the Databases which is located under Bin directory. (b) Now look for location where you have stored your Exchange Databases. By Default they would be located under “C:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\MDBDATA”. You can confirm it by checking the location manually. (i) Start Exchange System Manager. (ii) Open the administrative group that contains the database that you want to check. (iii) Under Storage Group, right-click the mailbox store or the public folder store that you want to check, and then click Properties. (iv) Click the Database tab. Now you s

If the database has not been shut down correctly(dirty shutdown). You may need to restore the database with the backup. Or you need to do a database repair. We don’t suggest removing log files as that way, regarding how to remove the log files, you can refer to the following article: How to remove Exchange Server transaction log files http://support.microsoft.com/kb/240145 Hope this helps.
