Even though there are 3 more drives available, any job that attempts to use the one bad drive or tape will time out and cancel, so I lose about 25% of my jobs. I have tried 5 new batches of tapes. Replaced the scsi cards, replaced 3 tape libraries. Loaded all service packs and bios updates. I am running Arcserve 2000 Sp3 on Windows 2000 SP3. Using 2 MIniexpress Libraries (Overland) with Quantum super DLt drives. Overland has worked with me through all the possiblities, even exchanging 3 new libraries. (I've also posted this in the WinNT forum as well). Hi there.. Please can someone help with this I'm getting nowhere with Compaq! We have a 35/70 GB DLT drive in our PDC and were using ArcserveIT for Windows NT - Workgroup Edition version 6.6. All was going fine until a couple of days ago! Then it would ask you to insert the cleaning tape (light appears on the DLT) - so we do that and it looks OK. But, whenever we ask it to erase tapes we get the following error appearing on-screen: Device <4> Erase failed ! UNRECOVERABLE DATA ERROR If you then check the Activity log there are two entries with red warnings: E6096 Media Error (ABSL:4060 CMD:10h) and E6001 Error Erasing: UNRECOVERABLE DATA ERROR Then the 'Insert Cleaning Tape' light comes on and we go through the whole process again...! I tried it again today with a new cleaning DLT and a new data DLT - no success. All connections are fine - we've only had the DLT for about a year so far. Has anyone else experienced this?
