to the remote server. the logfiles show that: "System.Net.WebException: Unable to connect to the remote server ---> System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it." The firewall has been turn off. The report server work well, but the report manager gave unable to connect to the remote server ssrs 2008 r2 the error. My system environment is window server 2008 R2 Enterprise with SQL Server 2008R2. I googled some articles and tried those solutions, but it seem not helpful for me. First, in RSReportServer.config file i changed the secureconnectionlevel to 0. Second, i used both my server name and IP address in the report manager URLs, such as http://myServer/reports, http://myIP/reports. The Database version of 2008R2 is independent of IIS, so some suggestions about iis setting are not available. I can't figure out the issue, anyone can help me? Thanks! RS needs to have access to database to create two catalogs. Also, I'm a little confused. If it was working a few months ago, why are you re-installing? –billinkc Aug 27 '13 at 12:13 The machine works as a DB server also, so there is a functional instance of MSSQL and Reporting Services succesfully created ReportServer and ReportServerTempDB for its use. Sorry for being unclear -- RS stopped working at some point (with the mentioned error message) without an obvious reason and my problem is that even re-install doesn't work. –Lukáš Lánský Aug 27 '13 at 12:38 Could this be a mismatch in your configuration with one end using the RTSPS protocol and the other end is configured to use the RTSP protocol? –RLF Aug 27 '13 at 14:19
