Facebook Not Loading
Facebook for iPhone version 3.2 was rolled out last night which brought support for the newly launched “Places” feature, support for background uploading of pictures and videos in iOS 4, along with other visual enhancements such as “Pull-to-Refresh” to iPhone. However for many users including myself, this new version was mostly broken, throwing “Unable to Load this Page” error on most pages. Oh and if you tried removing and reinstalling the app, it simply refuses to login. So as it turned out, the problem was occurring for jailbroken iPhone users who had BiteSMS app installed from Cydia. The new Facebook for iPhone 3.2 for whatever reasons is not compatible with the current version of BiteSMS. So if you have this app installed, uninstalling it from Cydia will fix the problem, at least it did for me. or you can alternatively try: For those having issues using FB after the upgrade, do the following conditions apply? *Jailbroken *Have BiteSMS installed *Have SBSettings installed I opened SBSettings, More, Mobile Substrate Addons. I then disabled BiteSMSsb, resprung, and now FB works fine. Not sure what that addon does, but so far BiteSMS works fine, as does FB. Hopefully a new version of BiteSMS will be rolled out soon which will by compatible with this new version of Facebook for iPhone. It started out not loading https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5958496?tstart=0 using Google Chrome, but the problem quickly spread to all of my browsers (Chrome, Firefox, and Safari). On Chrome I get the following message: "No Data Recieved Unable to load the webpage because the server sent no data. Error 324." On Safari, it says "Safari can't open the page." My internet connection is fine for all unable to other websites other than facebook. Furthermore, when I brought my MacBook Pro out-of-town facebook worked fine on a different internet source. In addition, facebook and all other websites are able to load on other devices on my home internet (desktops, laptops, iPad, iPod). I have contacted both my internet service provider and the manufacturer of my router and neither company had any idea how to fix it. They seemed to think unable to load it was either a facebook problem or a problem with my MacBook.I have a tried a few things that seemed to provide a temporary fix lasting about 5 mintues or a few clicks around facebook:1. clearing the cache and history in my browswers2. changing some settings on my router3. restarting the router4. connecting to the internet using ethernet instead of wirelessI would really appreciate any help in trying to fix this problem! RickTheRigged Level 1 (5 points) iPhone Q: Safari can't load specific websites Hello everybody,so for the past couple of weeks I've been experiencing the following problem: on both my iMac late 2010 and Macbook Air 2009 Safari is unable to load / connect to certain websites (about 20-30% of the pages I visit). If I try navigating to a specific page, I often get the "can't find server" error message. The websites Safari can't open seem to vary randomly - I might suddenly find myself unable to access a page that worked perfeclty fine a minute ago, and vice versa. De- and reactivating WiFi sometimes helps, sometimes it doesn't. Also Safari at times loads websites incompletely, with the entire website format distorted and all images missing, replaced by those blue "?" symbols. What is interesting though is that I do not experience these problems when opening the very same websites at the exact same time using another browser, such as Chrome or Firefox. I already reset Safari and emptied the cache, deactivated all addons / plugins and made sure that both my OSX and Safari are the latest version available. I'm at a loss here - at first I thought it might be a general internet / wifi problem, that was until I found out that everythings works just fine with other browsers. I hope you guys can help me! Of course I could just switch to Chrome or Firefox, but in my opinion Safari is vastly superior to these two so I'd really prefer keeping Safari.
