I am trying to connect to Oracle 11g from ERWin http://erwin-knowledgebase.com/index.php?View=entry&EntryID=970 8 and get the infamous "Unable to locate client connectivity software Ora7nt.dll". I made sure the Oracle bin was in my path and the file ociw32.dll was there. Any further ideas? Oracle native client works (TNS) and so does the ODBC connection. Erwin is a 32-bit application and cannot work with the 64bit libraries. We also have a technical document that refers to this error: https://support.ca.com/irj/portal/kbtech?docid=547140&searchID=TEC547140&fromKBResultsScreen=T Please be aware that you need to be a registered Support Online user in order to access the Tech Doc. When I try connecting to the database from a client software (ERWin), I get the following error message: DAX000: Unable to locate client connectivity software sqlncli.dll(Native ODBC Connectivity). Check with your SQL Server 2005 database administrator to install the appropriate client software. Do I need to do something special to connect to the database? venki Saturday, November 22, 2008 1:15 AM Reply | Quote Answers 0 Sign in to vote It looks like this warning/error is coming because of some ERWin behavior, and your problem is no longer with SQL Server Data Access but rather with the ERWin app. Probably you will have more luck asking about this on ERWin forums or through ERWin's support. This post is provided 'as is' and confers no express or implied warranties or rights.
