logged into the gui to add an extension for a new employee, I noticed the Apply Configuration Changes bar was reload failed because retrieve_conf encountered an error: 1 displayed, wasn't sure why, figured we must have forgotten to press it [fatal] unable to connect to asterisk manager from /var/lib/asterisk/bin/retrieve_conf, aborting after the last change a week ago. So, I pressed it, Continued with reload, the frogy was

catching the fly for roughly 1 minute, then I get an error which read: Error: Did not receive valid response from server The GUI completely locked up. I was able to SSH in and restart httpd. The Apply Configuration Changes was still displaying at the top. Since it was early and no one was in the office yet, I rebooted the server. It came back up, logged in, the PCC button was still there, I clicked it and watched in asterisk -r to see what happened. It looked like it completed the reload and everything was working, except the GUI was locked up again, and I had to restart httpd again. Any ideas on what might be causing this? It happens in Firefox and in IE. Any assistance is greatly appreciated! tqhosting 2010-04-21 10:25:46 UTC #2 now it doesn't error out, but it just sets there on the "Please wait, reloading" page. If someone has any ideas, please share, this is extremely frustrating. mickecarlsson 2010-04-21 11:04:00 UTC #3 Check your log file, check your CPU utilization when clicking on Apply Changes (use top).Check your MySQL for errors: mysqlcheck -u root -p --check asterisk Check that there is enough memory with free -m tqhosting 2010-04-21 11:29:45 UTC #4 Hi Mikael, Thank you for your response. I'm not good at using linux, however i tried giving 777 permission to any files i felt would help, but without any benefit. here is a log of what happens when i try to apply configuration changes: exit: 1Checking for PEAR DB..OKChecking for PEAR Console::Getopt..OKChecking for /etc/amportal.conf ..OKBootstrapping /etc/amportal.conf ..OKParsing /etc/amportal.conf ..OKParsing /etc/asterisk/asterisk.conf http://community.freepbx.org/t/apply-configuration-changes-error-and-locks-up-system/8229 ..OKConnecting to database..OKConnecting to Asterisk manager interface..OKAdded to globals: ASTETCDIR = /etc/asteriskAdded to globals: ASTMODDIR = /usr/lib/asterisk/modulesAdded to globals: ASTVARLIBDIR = /var/lib/asteriskAdded to globals: ASTAGIDIR = /var/lib/asterisk/agi-binAdded to globals: ASTSPOOLDIR = /var/spool/asteriskAdded to globals: ASTRUNDIR = /var/run/asteriskAdded to globals: ASTLOGDIR = /var/log/asteriskAdded to globals: CWINUSEBUSY = trueAdded to globals: AMPMGRUSER = adminAdded to globals: AMPMGRPASS = elastix456[FATAL] Cannot write Queues configurations http://community.freepbx.org/t/unable-to-apply-configuration-changes-reload-failed-because-retrieve-conf-encountered-an-error-1/5369 Failed creating/overwriting Queues extensions file: /etc/asterisk/queues_additional.conf1 error(s) occured, you should view the notification log on the dashboard or main screen to check for more details. Freepbx Apply configuration changes locks up asterisk Discussion in 'Bug Reporting and Fixes' started by haid@excel-computers.com, Dec 10, 2007. haid@excel-computers.com Expand Collapse New Member Joined: Dec 7, 2007 Messages: 5 Likes Received: 0 This happens intermittently. I uses both internet explorer and mozilla unable to connect firefox to make asterisk adjustments using freepbx. When I choose to apply configurations changes, sometimes will not finish and asterisk locks up. I have to a amportal kill and amportal start from Putty session to get asterisk running again. I can then go to freepbx and finish applying changes. #1 haid@excel-computers.com, Dec 10, 2007 ttsdunlap Expand Collapse New Member Joined: Apr 13, 2009 Messages: 2 Likes Received: 0 CentOS Linux 5.3 FreePBX 2.5.1.2 I am having this problem also. I can see the configuration changes in FreePBX even after I restart. But, the Apply Configuration Changes bar just locks the browser. Were you able to resolve this? Thanks Tom #2 ttsdunlap, Apr 13, 2009 jroper Expand Collapse Guru Joined: Oct 20, 2007 Messages: 3,827 Likes Received: 66 Just occasionally, I've seen this when there is no internet access for the box - e.g. a DNS error. However, the /var/log/full log often gives a clue, as may the httpd error log.
