I used to have a running backuppc setup for a number of machines, but now it no longer does the job. I tried methods tar and rsync, but neither works. Last bad XferLOG for rsync method: Code: Contents of file /var/lib/BackupPC//pc/dolphin.ssc.kalliance.nl/XferLOG.bad.z, modified 2014-01-13 16:55:29 full backup started for directory / (baseline backup #271) Running: /usr/bin/ssh -q -x -l root dolphin.ssc.kalliance.nl /usr/bin/rsync --server --sender --numeric-ids --perms --owner --group -D --links --hard-links --times --block-size=2048 --recursive --ignore-times . / Xfer PIDs are now 12846 Read EOF: Verbinding is weggevallen Tried again: got 0 bytes Done: 0 files, 0 bytes Got fatal error during xfer (Unable to read 4 bytes) Backup aborted (Unable to read 4 bytes) Not saving this as a partial backup since it has fewer files than the prior one (got 0 and 0 files versus 0) Last bad XferLOG for tar method: Code: Contents of file /var/lib/BackupPC//pc/dolphin.ssc.kalliance.nl/XferLOG.bad.z, modified 2014-01-13 17:19:08 (Extracting only Errors) Running: /usr/bin/ssh -q -x -n -l root dolphin.ssc.kalliance.nl env LC_ALL=C /bin/gtar -c -v -f - -C / --totals --exclude=./home/martin/.sabnzbd ./home ./etc ./data/Afbeeldingen ./data/Doc

I have a backuppc user on the server with his public key in authorized_keys2 of the root user on the client. My server is squeaks-laptop, 192.168.0.104. The client is bart-laptop 192.168.0.101. The backups fail with error "Got fatal error during xfer (Unable to read 4 bytes)". Here is the output of the debug command run on the server: Code: backuppc@squeaks-laptop:/usr/share/backuppc/bin$
