When I login into the dashboard I get an error "Error: Unable to retrieve usage information" When I installed it and logged in for the first time, everything was working fine. But after I stopped my ec2 instance and restarted, I am facing this problem. What might be causing this error? I used the stable juno version of devstack. And the AMI for my ec2 instance is Ubuntu Server http://stackoverflow.com/questions/29328151/openstack-dashboard-gives-error-error-unable-to-retrieve-usage-information 14.04 LTS (HVM), SSD Volume Type. Does restarting the instance might have caused some problem? amazon-web-services amazon-ec2 openstack devstack share|improve this question edited Mar 29 '15 at 17:21 asked Mar 29 '15 at 10:45 akshay1188 7461828 1 Check logs.. The error messages in horizon are pretty generic. –Harikrishnan Mar 30 '15 at 4:27 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 5 down vote accepted cd to devstack and execute ./rejoin-stack That solved it. I was trying to reboot nova and other services individually. But since the installation was done using devstack, you need to run the ./rejoin-stack script. share|improve this answer answered Mar 30 '15 at 11:05 akshay1188 7461828 add a comment| up vote 3 down vote In addition to [akshay1188] answer, you can re-stack your system. Sometimes, rejoin-stack does not work as expected. In that case, you can unstack (unstack.sh) it and stack (stack.sh) again. *This may take much time. Another observation of mine says this can be an issue with IP address of the system. Try to keep IP address same after reboot. share|improve this answer answered Apr 3 '15 at 8:41 SaurabhJinturkar 406415 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using Email and Password Post a

It is most often caused by mismatched service tokens between nova, keystone, etc. but similar errors can also be raised by failure to have the openstackx extensions properly installed with nova or bad service endpoint data in keystone causing connection errors. My first suggestion, though, would be to check all your conf/proxy server files (nova, keystone, glance, etc.) and make sure they match the correct admin service token defined by keystone. piyadol (piyadol-h) said on 2011-12-08: #2 Thanks for your answered Gabriel but I've already checked all config files but still got the same error. Here is my config file keystone.conf,nova.conf,api-pase.ini ##Keystone.conf## [DEFAULT] # Show more verbose log output (sets INFO log level output) verbose = False # Show debugging output in logs (sets DEBUG log level output) debug = False # Which backend store should Keystone use by default. # Default: 'sqlite' # Available choices are 'sqlite' [future will include LDAP, PAM, etc] default_store = sqlite # Log to this file. In your case mostly api or compute. Check if each service are running and reachable from your Horizon host. Check if all endpoints in keystone are configured correctly.
