Respond to this 2 I just got a new computer running Vista Business. Now I can't print multiple copies of a document..only 1 at a time. I get an error message: Unable to store job at printer. http://h20565.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?sp4ts.oid=85196&docId=emr_na-c01672971&docLocale=en_US Printer not configured to collate. Install EIO hard disk. I use a network printer and can still print all I want from other computers in the office. Is it Vista doing this? Can it be fixed without having to purchase the EIO hard disk?thanks. by Anonymous on Mar 20, 2008 at 1:22pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Compare the firmware versions of the printers. It's saying the printer hard drive does not have enough space, http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/posts/46114 does that printer have a hard drive installed? You might also check and see if one printer has more installed memory.Print the configuration pages to compare settings. by Stephen on Mar 19, 2007 at 1:14pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Ok, just done that and both Memory settings are exactly the same???Installed DIM Memory: 128mbOn Board Memory: 32mbTotal Memory: 160mbDWS: 6.00Automatice Resource Saving EnabledI've cleared the completed jobs queue, I don't know what else to try? by radical on Mar 20, 2007 at 5:33am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 What about the Firmware versions? by Stephen on Mar 20, 2007 at 5:41am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Firmware Version is the same on both: -V.29.12.FFThanks!!! by radical on Mar 20, 2007 at 6:17am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 You could try doing a hard drive initialization on the printer.Does it actually have a hard drive installed?I'd try this even if a drive was not installed. To initialize the hard disk:1 Turn the printer on.2 As the printer performs its power-on sequence, press and hold the PAUSE/RESUME (HP Color LaserJet 4600 models) or MENU (HP Color LaserJet 4610n and 4650 models) button until all three lights on the control panel are lit.3 Press the left arrow button The message INITIALIZE DISK appears on the control-panel display.4 Press the check mark button,
you get one copy plus a page with the errors below? Searched Google and found very little to help you with the problem? Error: Unable to store job at printer
Reason: Insufficient disk https://lonesysadmin.net/2008/02/13/unable-to-store-job-at-printer/ space for this job
Solution: Delete some files from the disk before resending this job.
Two solutions worked for me: 1. Switch from the PCL5 to PostScript driver. The PostScript driver's defaults appear https://discussions.apple.com/thread/890143?tstart=0 to be more compatible with the printer. 2. Edit the properties of the printer in Control Panel->Printers. What worked for me is setting Printer Memory to "128 MB," Printer Hard Disk to "Not Installed," and Mopier Mode unable to to "Disabled." The option for Job Storage kept switching itself to "Enabled" so I left it, and it seems to work. You may have to restart the application you are using in order for the new settings to be read. As always, if I'm missing something, you have a better way, or I'm just plain wrong leave me a comment. :-) Share this:TwitterFacebookRedditLinkedInGoogleEmailPrint Related Comments on this entry are closed. Of course, your mileage may vary…. Lastly, the HP Universal PS / PCL driver works great… especially when deploying several different HP models on Terminal Servers. Bob Plankers February 16, 2008, 2:10 PM I don't do a lot of Windows administration but anything that works globally, like a universal driver, seems like a good idea.
