Solved Help with java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError AND java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError in Tomcat 6.0 Posted on 2009-10-08 Java App Servers Java 3 Verified Solutions 3 Comments 1,896 Views Last Modified: 2013-12-02 Hi Experts, There was a similiar question asked in 2007. I have isolated the code to a call to an remote secure web service. I am using Apache Tomcat 6.0.18 in Netbeans 6.5.1 when developing but I am deploying on a server using Apache Tomcat 6.0.16. The application calls the service fine from my development environment but when I deploy the WAR to the server, the call to the web service generates the error. When I start the application and call the web service for the first time I get the ExceptionInitializerError. Subsequent calls generate the NoClassDefFoundError. I am quite the novice at this so any help would be greatly appreciated.
