Unable To Mount Database Ec=-1216
Views Last Modified: 2016-09-20 I'm working on a server that I have not maintained before that has a dismounted mailbox store in SBS 2008 (so it runs Exchange 2007). When I try to mount the store, I get: Exchange is unable to mount the database that you specified. Specified database: SOLAR1\First Storage Group\Mailbox Database; Error code: MapiExceptionJetErrorAttachedDatabaseMismatch: Unable to mount database. (hr=0x80004005, ec=-1216) I've run an eseutil /p
Eseutil /mh Exchange 2010
and an eseutil /d on the database. I still get the same error. If I run eseutil /mh, I get this: Extensible Storage Engine Utilities for Microsoft(R) Exchange Server Version 08.02 Copyright (C) Microsoft Corporation. All Rights Reserved. Solved an active manager operation failed with a transient error Can't Mount Database Posted on 2011-05-02 Exchange 1 Verified Solution 65 Comments 7,574 Views Last Modified: 2013-02-08 I had a hardrive failure and recovered from a back-up and now exchange does not work and https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/26410469/Exchnage-2007-mailbox-store-that-will-not-mount-error-1216-MapiExceptionJetErrorAttachedDatabaseMismatch.html this is the error i get when i try to mount it Failed to mount database 'Mailbox Database'. Strange that you have https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/26988509/Can't-Mount-Database.html not run out of disk space. Each time exchange is backed up with an "exchange aware" backup program Go to Solution 65 Comments LVL 4 Overall: Level 4 Exchange 3 Message Expert Comment by:pritamsh2011-05-02 Follow this steps; Run eseutil /Mh and eseutil /ML gainst database and logs respectively. Check for database shutdown state. If it is clean shutdown than copy all log files to different location and try to mount database If it is in dirty shutdown check for which log file is missing and try to replace log files form backup else run eseutil /r (soft recovery) for repairing corrupt database. Before doing above mentioned steps i'll recommend uncheck option 'Start database at startup' and restart server then try to mount database. Let me know it this helps. 0 Message Author Comment by:danhartke2011-05-02 Forgive me, my exchange skills are seriously weak. I am in a bit over my head Where am I running those commands from? Exchange Shell? 0 LVL 17 Overall: Level 17 Exchange 9 Message Expert Comment by:aoakeley2011-05-02 Assuming exchange 2003? Then these commands can be found in c:\program files\exchsrvr\bin open a command prompt and navigate to that directory cmd #> c: #> cd c:\program files\exchsrvr\bin #> eseutil /mh c:\program files\exchsrvr\MDBDATA\priv1.edb
occurs, Exchange 2000 terminates soft recovery because if the soft recovery task starts, it starts the storage group but with some missing data. Also, the recovery task http://www.convertedbtopst.com/blog/fix-jet-errattacheddatabasemismatch-error-1216-or-0xfffffb40-in-exchange-server.html makes the re-integration process of missing files impossible with the storage group. Thus, to https://www.petenetlive.com/KB/Article/0000348 overcome through this problem you need to restore the missing files but if the files are not available then you need to go first with Eseutil option to override the error and then proceeds the soft recovery task despite of missing or mismatched files. If you go for soft recovery task using Eseutil then unable to you must have the following things: Above three things is located in the General Tab of the storage group in ESM (Exchange Server Manager) and after having the complete set type, put the command exactly in the command line: Solution: ESEUTIL /R Enn /I /L[log_path] /S[system_path] – Resolve 1216 Errors When More Than One Database File Is Inconsistent If the storage group is created problem or stopped unexpectedly, unable to mount also, it display the following error message, it mean that multiple database files are unavailable and database's leads into an inconsistent state. You can find either the database is in inconsistent place or not. To check, run this command in the command line: eseutil /mh database_name | find /i "consistent" If you have higher edition from Exchange Server 2000 then you need to run this command to know the inconsistency of the database: eseutil /mh database_name | find /i "Shutdown" Now, when you find the database inconsistent in the storage group then you have to prefer extreme caution with all transaction log files. You need to define which log file of each database is required for recovery by using Eseutil tool, so to identify the log put the command in the command line: eseutil /mh database_name | find /i "log required Also, you need to specify the range of the log file which is listed from decimal to hexadecimal. In most cases, you unable to find the highest log, to find the highest log run this command: eseutil /ml E0n.log | find /i "lgeneration" Solution: Now, if you are missing any of the log file then recovery task of the database doesn't w

Solution Essentially we are missing a log file and the database is not happy, in my case the AV software had quarantined the file and even restoring it didn't fix the problem. 1. Before you proceed make sure that the folder that contains the log files, is NOT included in your AV scan in the future, to negate this happening again. 2. We need to repair the database, click start > run > cmd {enter}. 3.
