years 7 months ago #242715 I checked your FAQ pdf file and also this forum but cannot find a solution to the install error https://www.rsjoomla.com/blog/view/294-fixing-the-joomla-340-extensions-installer-bug.html I am getting – see it below. Error There was an error uploading this file to the server. Unable to find install package This error is different to the others I read about in your FAQ's and this forum. I am using the latest version for Joomla 3.2.3. The http://www.joomlapolis.com/forum/25-uddeim-plugin-and-component/224904-install-error-unable-to-find-install-package package I downloaded was: uddeIM_3.3_j30_unzip1st I did unzip it first and attempted to install file: com_uddeim_j30.zip Max file upload size for the server is 30meg What am I doing wrong? Thanks for your help. slabbi ONLINE Moderator Posts: 3683 Thanks: 233 Karma: 151 2 years 7 months ago #242718 That is really strange. Is it possible to install other packages? Maybe the access rights of the tmp folder are not correct and Joomla has no access to the uploaded archive? You can also try the Joomla Web Installer. The component is also available from there, nevertheless additional modules, plugins must be installed separately. uddeIM & uddePF Development Google+ profile: plus.google.com/u/0/b/117839921924782901705/ CB Language Workgroup CB 3rd Party Developer melh OFFLINE Fresh Boarder Posts: 2 Thanks: 0 Karma: 0 2 years 7 months ago #242724 I activated Joomla the 'Install from web' feature and tried inst

trying to install updated modules If you use Zentools please post a review at the Joomla! Extensions Directory. 5 years 7 months ago Maybe this is a joomla or hosting server question, but I can't install anything now that my site has moved to a remote server. I can FTP files and no problem uploading images but I get an error when I use the extension manager in the administrator set up. There was a "tmp"folder that it seemed to be installing into when I had the joomla site on MAMP, but I changed the path to that file and don't know how to change the path to the new tmp folder. Do I need that? Is there a simple answer? palominojones 3 Month Basic 246 posts 2 Thanks Karma: 0 The administrator has disabled public write access. 5 years 7 months ago Hi there, You can set the path to the tmp folder under: site > global configuration > server > Path to Temp-folder Seth Moderator 8358 posts 225 Thanks Karma: 202 The administrator has disabled public write access. 5 years 7 months ago Thank you, but I don't get it. Sorry. That's my problem, I don't know how to write it. I'm not supposed to use those > marks am I? Is it an absolute link starting with http:// and my url or a link the server uses that seems to be to be written backwards, or would it just be "/tmp" or "../tmp" to get one step back from where I am? But I don't know where I am. I need to see a sample of how it's written. Would you be able to mock one up? The link to my site right now is joomla.mainefiberarts.org Thanks. Ever hopeful. I went there to delete the old reference to my folder on my MAMP set up before I moved the site. It's the path I can't figure out how to write. Not where to write it. palominojones 3 Month Basic 246 posts 2 Thanks Karma: 0 The administrator has disabled public write access. 5 years 7 months ago Hi there, A quick way to do this is to check out the configuration file that you may have on any other sites on the server. or you can use a script like this absolute path script to find the absolute path on your server. bogdan.org.ua/2007/04/30/how-to-find-absolute-path-on-a-web-server-using-php.html Also your cpanel should also have the absolute path in the overview after you hav
