that the PHP function move_uploaded_file does not appear to be working - this is only happening in the front-end and is affecting the Joomla! Media Manager upload function too. The only thing that catches my eye is that there is not specific upload_tmp_dir value set in the PHP configuration - check with your host to see if a value should be set for this. Also make sure your Path to Temp Folder is correct in Site -> Global Configuration. Finally, check to make sure that the module isn't already installed. It's possible that some files already got copied or something and now your system is having problems overwriting them. If none of this works, let us know if the error message specifies which file can't be moved. That would help figure out a solution. share|improve this answer answered Jun 19 '10 at 18:00 Will Mavis 28826 Thanks Will! Much appreciated! –Sixfoot Studio Jun 20 '10 at 1:00 Hi Will. Appreciate your help. Thanks. Last Edit: 4 years 5 months ago by . The administrator has disabled public write access. Re: Warning! Failed to move file - Why? 4 years 5 months ago #38 Hello, The error you are referring to JFolder::create: Could not create directory Warning failed to move file! Error in Joomla is not Template related. It is a problem with your Joomla installation configuration.php file probably because you moved your installation from one location to another. Solution A: Goto the folder where your joomla installtion is. Click on the configuration.php file to open it. 2: Scroll down through the file until you find var $log_path, this contains the Directory path of your Old Server. Just replace the whole line with the code var $log_path = './logs'; 3: Scroll down through the file until you find var $tmp_path, this also contains the Directory path to your Old Server. Replace the whole line with the code var $tmp_path = './tmp'; This should solve the issue with your Joomla installation and allow you to proceed and install your templates and modules. Failed to move file - Why? 4 years 5 months ago #40 Kopje Offline Fresh Boarder Posts: 7 Karma: 0 Hi John, Made the edits as suggested above but still the same error. Tracing further it seems to me the issue is that the Joomla Directory Permissions are all set to Unwritable. Is that a probable cause? I've made sure the Mac file permissions for the Joomla folder (and all enclosed) are set to Read and Write; trying (as a newbie!) to work out how to make change within Joomla. Thanks for your help.
