Starting a while back it would stop wii troubleshooting wont read disc reading discs and instead give a message akin to "Unable to read the disc. Please refer to the Wii operations manual". I tried several other games, but to no avail. It even started giving a message that reads something like

"An error has occurred. Press the Eject Button and remove the disc, then turn off the Wii console and refer to the Operations Manual.", however I cannot seem to find anything helpful in the manual. I have tried searching the internet but have not found anything useful -- until yesterday. I was told I could try cleaning it with a vacuum cleaner, and so I did. Now it is able to recognize the game inserted, but if I try to start the

game, the Wii will try to load it, but will give the error message "An error has occurred. Press the Eject Button and remove the disc, then turn off the Wii console and refer to the Operations Manual." after a while. Now, interesting to note, this concerns only Wii games, as it plays GameCube games with absolutely no problems. Would any of you have any helpful things to say? Does anything need to be replaced? Is there anything wrong with the lens? I appreciate all and any help. tl;dr: Wii does not read Wii games, but reads GameCube discs without problems. What do I do? Just buy the Wii's lens cleaning kit. You can buy online at Amazon or you can go to a gamestop, thats where I got mine. I think they have them at places like Best Buy and Walmart too, but I don't know for sure. If the lens aren't the problem, then you probably have to send your Wii to Nintendo, because when my Discs stopped being read for all games and when I tried using the lens cleaning kit I ended up having to call Nintendo and they said I had to sendmy Wiito them. And their website when I had this problem wa

Update your cIOS249 to d2x v6 (base 56). You might also give Configurable USB Loader a try. If your problem remains unresolved, it is probably the game and you should try another backup. And sometimes the console won't play any disk at all. Before you throw the disk in the trash or the console out the window, here are a couple of things that might get you back to playing games. What to Do if a Single Disk Won't PlayIf a disk won't play properly, check whether there's anything on the disk that would prevent the console from reading it. If you hold the bottom side of the disk to the light you should be able to see any smudges or scratches. If it's a smudge, cleaning the disk will often fix the problem. I like to use the microfiber cloths used to clean eyeglasses or; a tissue is second best. Just rub the smudged spot. (When using a tissue, steam up the spot with your breath first.)Don't exert more force than necessary; it's a flimsy disk, not a kitchen sink. Once the disk looks clean, put it back into the console and see what happens. If it still doesn't work, find a brighter light and look again; you may have missed something.A scratch is more problematic. If it's a game you just bought, try exchanging it where you bought it. Otherwise, you can try polishing out the scratch; there's a good instructional article on dealing with scratches at WikiHow.Some older Wii units have trouble with dual-layer discs, which pack more info onto a disk (games that use dual-layer disks include Xenoblade Chronicles, Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Metroid Prime Trilogy). If you have a Wii that is having trouble reading a dual layer disc you can try a lens cleaning kit. Nintendo used to sell a Wii lens cleaning kit, alth
