You're solution work a treat. Reply Gary says: April 7, 2010 at 10:14 am My problem was on an HP 4650. First time I've had this issue and I've had about 10 of these printers for years! Found from another site to disable the Ram Disk and it worked for me. In the GUI web interface go to Settings / Configure Device / System Setup and there is a drop down menu to toggle off the Ram Disk. Solution: Delete some files https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/24130253/Error-Unable-to-store-job-at-printer-on-HP-Color-Laserjet-5500.html from the disk before resending this job.
Two solutions worked for me: 1. Switch from the PCL5 to PostScript driver. The PostScript driver's defaults appear to be more compatible with the printer. 2. Edit the properties of the printer in Control Panel->Printers. What worked for me is setting Printer Memory to "128 MB," Printer Hard unable to Disk to "Not Installed," and Mopier Mode to "Disabled." The option for Job Storage kept switching itself to "Enabled" so I left it, and it seems to work. You may have to restart the application you are using in order for the new settings to be read. As always, if I'm missing something, you have a better way, or I'm just plain wrong leave me a comment. :-) Share this:TwitterFacebookRedditLinkedInGoogleEmailPrint Related unable to store Comments on this entry are closed. Solved Error: Unable to store job at printer on HP Color Laserjet 5500 Posted on 2009-02-10 Printers and Scanners Peripherals 1 Verified Solution 5 Comments 13,864 Views Last Modified: 2013-12-15 Intermittently our HP Color LaserJet 5500 printer prints out a job storage status page that reads: Error: Unable to store job at printer Reason: Printer not configured to collate Solution: Install an EIO hard disk. I've researched this error on HP's site and I performed the suggested: I downloaded/installed the latest drivers. I doubled checked the settings on the printer for Job Storage and Mopier mode, both are disabled. The printer hard disk is also 'not installed'. We have the printer maxed out as far as memory is concerned and people are not printing huge files. I can't figure out what else to try. We really don't have to have to purchase a $500 EIO hard disk, I'd rather find another fix. Any suggestions would be helpful.
