Yesterday I upgraded Chrome and http://superuser.com/questions/1047165/lotus-notes-unable-to-locate-program-for-hyperlink now when I click a hyperlink in Notes the following error pops up: Unable to locate program After an internet search I came across this IBM article which discusses a similar problem with Excel spreadsheets. I've carefully checked the registry for the "File > Open" association for http and https (both identical) and these are set to: [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\http\shell\open\command] @="\"C:\\Program Files\\Google\\Chrome\\Application\\chrome.exe\" -- \"%1\"" This appears correct. I've further done the following: Opened a command prompt and navigated to C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application, then ran the command "chrome -- www.bbc.co.uk" and this works. Opened Microsoft Word and added a hyperlink to www.bbc.co.uk. Clicked the link and again this works. The problem appears to be some corruption that only Lotus Notes (v8.5.2) understands. Launching an image file (eg. PNG) works fine. It seems to have been the Chrome upgrade (to v48) itself that has somehow caused the problem. It's an Excel problem, not a Notes problem.Pascal. Red Flag This Post Please let us know here why this post is inappropriate. Now, they can always just save the attachment and then open it through windows explorer, which is fine, but I would rather get a proper solution for this. Knowing almost nothing about Lotus Notes does not help me I know but I think it may have something to do with the default file association, however my colleague tells me that Notes uses the windows file associations, which are working. Any ideas anyone? lotus-notes share|improve this question edited May 25 '12 at 13:39 Khaled 24k53660 asked May 25 '12 at 10:17 Ross Doughty 6113 What was the attachment? –Simon O'Doherty May 25 '12 at 13:04 Was the attachment an .xlsx file by any chance? –kubanczyk May 25 '12 at 14:24 Yes it was an .xlsx, Also, I have had the same with .zip and .avi files. Or are you even using Citrix? –leyrer May 28 '12 at 11:57 No was installed properly using the setup. –Ross Doughty Jun 3 '12 at 9:51 add a comment| 4 Answers 4 active oldest votes up vote 1 down vote Try deleting (backup beforehand) the Cache.NDK file (while notes client is not running). Other then that, determine at what point did it stop working? If you recently migrated from an earlier version you can try running the NICE utility. Details are here. http://www-304.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21459714 Make sure you have backups of the important files in the Data folder before running it though. share|improve this answer answered May 25 '12 at 17:11 Simon O'Doherty 28016 a
