In your case remove the problem DC, run metadata cleanup and start again with it.Best regards Meinolf Weber MVP, MCP, MCTS Microsoft MVP - Directory Services My Blog: http://msmvps.com/blogs/mweber/ Disclaimer: This posting is provided AS IS with no warranties or guarantees and confers no rights.

Vote Up0Vote Down dave.webb April unable to connect 2014 Have you tried the obvious restart? Are any other DCs affected or just the one? Anything in the Event Log? Vote Up0Vote Down Kilsby April 2014 Yes, I have restarted the server. It is only one DC with the issue. Vote Up0Vote Down cocker April 2014 Is your DNS server running and responding to queries? You can use nslookup to test this. Also check the File Replication Service is running. Vote Up0Vote Down Kilsby April 2014 Yes, DNS appears to be working and the FRS service is running.I have also noticed this in the DCDIAG output, which is probably relevant:Starting test: NetLogons Unable to connect to the NETLOGON share! (\\SERVER4\netlogon) [SERVER4] An net use or LsaPolicy operation failed with error 67, The network name cannot be found.. Vote Up0Vote Down dave.webb April 2014 edited April 2014 Do the NETLOGON and SYSVOL shares exist? You can check this by running "net share" in a command prompt. Vote Up0Vote Down Kilsby April 2014 No, those shares do not exist on this DC but they do on all the others. Can I just recreate them? Vote Up0Vote Down dave.webb May 2014 This article might help: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/316790 Vote Up0Vote Down ServerGuy May 2014 Have you checked that this isn't caused by a network issue, such as firewall blocking FRS traffic? By itfix7 · 7 years ago Added second Windows Server 2003 DC (DC2) to single domain (AD, File Server, DNS Server, GC Role on both DCs) / (DCPROMO run)Intended for DC2 to be replica of main DC (DC1) / same OS on both.Same domain, same building, no firewall between, only a switch.Different IP's, DC1 is primary in all cases. All DNS (pings, tests) pass: DC1 to DC2, and DC2 to DC1. AD changes replicate quickly.Contents of sysvol on DC1: 3 policy folders did not replicate to DC2.DC2 created 1 policy which DID replicate to DC1 so now DC1 has all 4.
