you, helping each other. Join them; it only takes a minute: Sign up Visual Studio 2010 error building, due to missing files up vote 5 down vote favorite I've searched everywhere and I can't seem to find https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms228164(v=vs.90).aspx anyone with the same problem (although I'm sure people have made the same mistake in the past)...I accidentally deleted the contents of my Debug and Release folders. Now I am getting file not found errors. As a background, it's a Windows Forms Application in C#, and I'm running Visual Studio 10. Here's the errors: Unable to read manifest 'bin\Debug\projectName.vshost.exe.manifest' Could not find file [pathName]\projectName.vshost.exe.manifest. Before I was missing the manifest, I was getting an error http://stackoverflow.com/questions/11091544/visual-studio-2010-error-building-due-to-missing-files that it could not find the other contents of the folder (the exe, the pdb, etc.), error MSB3113 (link) Things I've tried (and some of them were far-fetched, I know): I tried renaming bogus files for all the missing files I tried to find the deleted files, but can't I tried deleting all the contents of the Debug/Release folders and doing a clean build I tried deleting the Debug/Release directories Let me know if you can think of anything I could try out. My issue seems to be vaguely similar to this one. c# winforms visual-studio-2010 share|improve this question asked Jun 18 '12 at 21:44 ahollenbach 376214 1 Generally you should be able to delete your bin and obj folders whenever you'd like. A re-build will recreate the folder structure and compiled output, as per usual. Are you manually placing any external resources or references into the Debug/Release folder? –Cᴏʀʏ Jun 18 '12 at 21:50 No, I am using a custom icon, but that resides in the project directory, would that affect the build? –ahollenbach Jun 18 '12 at 21:53 It shouldn't as long as it's reference properly. You could check the suggestion from the MSBuild error reference here: msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms228179(v=vs.80).aspx –Cᴏʀʏ Jun 18 '12 at 21:54 Try this, right click project-> select properties-> configuration properties-> linker-> Manifes

This feature http://www.mamicode.com/info-detail-1165675.html allows to configure a web application project to transform the web.config file during deployment based on the current build configuration (Debug, Release, etc). If you haven't already tried it there is a nice step-by-step introduction post to XML transformations on the Visual Web Developer Team Blog and for a quick unable to reference on the supported syntax you have this MSDN entry. Unfortunately there are some bad news, this new feature is specific to web application projects since it resides in the Web Publishing Pipeline (WPP) and therefore is not officially supported in other project types like such as a Windows applications. The keyword here is officially because Vishal Joshi has a nice blog post unable to read on how to extend it's support to app.config transformations. However, the proposed workaround requires that the build action for the app.config file be changed to Content instead of the default None. Also from the comments to the said post it also seems that the workaround will not work for a ClickOnce deployment. Working around this I tried to remove the build action change requirement and at the same time add ClickOnce support. This effort resulted in a single MSBuild project file (AppConfig.Transformation.targets) available for download from GitHub. It integrates itself in the build process so in order to add app.config transformation support to an existing Windows Application Project you just need to import this targets file after all the other import directives that already exist in the *.csproj file. Before - Without App.config transformation support ...
阅读:107 评论:0 收藏:0 [点我收藏+] 标签:老外参考文章1 老外参考文章2 I created a WPF browser application MyApp then published it by ClickOnce in VS2008. Published folder like this: PublishedFolder\MyApp.xbap PublishedFolder\setup.exe PublishedFolder\Application Files\MyApp_0_0_0_1\ MyApp.xbap PublishedFolder\Application Files\MyApp_0_0_0_1\ MyApp.exe.manifest PublishedFolder\Application Files\MyApp_0_0_0_1\ MyApp.exe.deploy PublishedFolder\Application Files\MyApp_0_0_0_1\otherDependedLib.dll.deploy … Now, I usually need to modify app.config because I need modify DB connection string and services addresses etc. But after published to application server, I don’t want to republish the version with VS2008. So I find mage.exe tool. I put mage.exe and MyApp.pfx in “PublishedFolder\” Then I do like so: mage -Update "Application Files\MyApp_0_0_0_1\ MyApp.exe.manifest" mage -Sign "Application Files\MyApp_0_0_0_1\ MyApp.exe.manifest" -CertFile MyApp.pfx -Password "test" mage -Update MyApp.xbap -appm "Application Files\MyApp_0_0_0_1\ MyApp.exe.manifest" mage -Sign MyApp.xbap -CertFile MyApp.pfx -Password "test" When I run update manifest command, I got "Error MSB3113: Could not find file "otherDependedLib.dll"... ". My dependent dlls all added ".deploy" for client download. But update success and I found hash value and sign name value had been changed in MyApp.exe.manifest and MyApp.xbap. Then I browser the application in IE after cleaned buffer with “mage -cc”. But I get next error: ERROR SUMMARY Below is a summary of the errors, details of these errors are listed later in the log. * An exception occurred while downloading the manifest. Following failure messages were detected: + Downloading http://localhost/MyApp.exe.manifest did not succeed. + The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found. Maybe I did some wrong options in mage step, who can tell me the correct method. Thank you! use a script to remove .deploy first then sign the add it back before signing the xbap rename *.deploy *.
