Also restart the computer where the music is stored and if you are able to, do the same with the router as well. It may take up to five minutes for the network to come back, double-check that your computer is connected to it. If still unable to add the music refer to this guided assistant. Should it still give you trouble kindly submit a diagnostic and reply here with your confirmation number

Novice Replies: 0 4 years ago topic Hi My set https://en.community.sonos.com/troubleshooting-228999/sonos-unable-to-add-the-music-folder-6548653 up was working before but strangely, I get an ‘unable to add the music folder’ error after I moved my macmini to a server closet. I've read through a bunch of threads on this topic but I'm not making any progress despite trying the suggestions. Here are my details: -Sonos Controller 3.7 -macmini Lion 10.7.3 (was running Lion Server but I did a clean install of Lion and didn't enable any server services, perhaps https://en.community.sonos.com/setting-up-sonos-228990/getting-an-unable-to-add-the-music-folder-error-29158 the cause of the problem?) -Music library resides on external firewire drive named “Music” Steps to Reproduce: 1. Manage > Music LIbrary Settings > “+” 2. Select “In another location on my computer, or on ext...”, hit next 3. Select drive “Music” from file browser, hit ‘choose’ and “next” 4. Enter my admin password, then wait a bit. Result: I eventually get an error dialog saying: “Sonos was unable to add the music folder access to the shared folder “//server/Music” is denied. Check the username and/or password” What I’ve tried thus far, all resulting in same error" -Ensure that File Sharing is enabled and that ‘Music’ is a shared folder with 'Everyone' having read & write access -Done the terminal commands sudo chflags -R nouchg /Volumes/Music/ sudo chmod -R -N /Volumes/Music/ Any other suggestions? Thanks for you help in advance, Tony like this 0 Quote Replies Oldest first Newest first Best voted TimDaniels You can see here how much reputation TimDaniels has received from other members. I noticed that SONOS was trying to access the share \\unknown\music instead of the actual name of my computer which would be \\sonosmac\music. I had file sharing turned on and windows sharing turned on but eve
