TECHNOLOGY IN THIS DISCUSSION Join the Community! Creating your account only takes a few minutes. Join Now I've setup a new NAGIOS 3.4.1 on CentOS 6.2. I've installed: centos6.2 nagios 3.4.1 nagiosplugins-1.4.16 nagiosgraph-1.4.4 nrpe-2.13 And all these are working (or appear to). What I can't seem to find and I've googled until my eyes bled out of my head is why the check_mrtgtraf won't work. nagiosgraph is successfully writing into /var/nagios/mrtg but check_mrtgtraf wants to write into /var/lib/mrtg. I've tried having the check_mrtgtraf write into: /var/lib/mrtg /var/nagios/mrtg and /var/nagios/rrd without any success. I've checked permissions, ownership and a number of other items. But it still fails. This forum has a note that says they solved the problem. http://www.howtoforge.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48484 but I'd prefer not to install MRTG directly as I'm afraid I'll overwrite something I fixed already.
Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated. Thank you. First I have to set the mrtg config like such: cd /etc cfgmaker public@ipaddress public@ipaddress2 > mrtg.cfg I have to type that all as one line now listing all the devices I want to monitor. I used to be able to append it using >> instead, but that seems to make it not work any more. Then I reboot Then I issue this to create the MRTG page: indexmaker /etc/mrtg.cfg > /var/www/mrtg/index.html I generally have to reboot one more time to get it going. 0 Anaheim OP BrianDent Sep 24, 2012 at 1:37 UTC TrapperDave, Thank you for the response.
