You worte: "re-author an avi file to a video file". Is the source file an AVI file that you have edited before within Nero Video? If so, has it been exported as an AVI file or you saved it as and NVC file (project file)? What does the complete error message display? Does this happen with other video formats? Thanks and best regards, NeroUser Comment good answer! good

"unable to insert" ... help please Discussion in 'Software' started by koalaw, May 8, 2008. koalaw Private E-2 When I first install Nero .. everything works great. Then I try to burn a second DVD and keep getting messages from then on, no matter http://forums.majorgeeks.com/index.php?threads/nero-unable-to-insert-help-please.159040/ what I try to load "unable to insert". Has anyone had this problem and if so, what can be done. In the past I have to uninstall Nero and then reinstall and I am able to burn one more DVD. This is getting to be a pain in the butt. I have tried several other burners, but I keep coming back to Nero. I just like it better. Thanks to anyone that can help. koalaw, May 8, 2008 #1 Appzalien Staff Sergeant It sounds unable to alot like Nero defaulted to a multisession state when you burned the first disk and it thinks when you go to burn the second disk you want to add to the first multisession disk instead of burning a new one. This is one of the things I hate about nero, the multisession crap is old school and hardly used anymore, yet they keep it around and sometimes load it as default, What a crock. You have to make sure when you burn your first disk unable to insert to go through all the tabs and check the settings so that you don't accidentally burn a multisession disk and always choose to close or finalize the disk after burning. If you follow these simple rules you should have no problems. Multisession was used basically by people burning music, and wanted to add music to the same cd-r disk a little at a time until it was full. But there are so many foibles to using it, I don't know anyone who uses it anymore. This was before there were RW disks that you can do the same thing with now, and once the rewritable is full you copy it to a permenant disk and erase the RW so multisession should be dead but nero refuses to let it die. Appzalien, May 8, 2008 #2 koalaw Private E-2 Wow .. what an answer ... I'm not sure if I understand all that, but it sure sounds impressive Now that you have said all that .. is there a way to stop the error message. I don't know what the multisession is, but hopefully you can explain more to me. I usually don't get those error messages for several months after using it .. and then it starts appearing and I can't burn any more. If I uninstall and re-install, then I can use Nero for a couple more months. This time I upgraded and as soon as I burned one, then tried to burn another movie I got the error message. Tha
