Custom Tool Error Unable To Import Webservice/schema
up vote 24 down vote favorite 5 When running wsdl.exe on a WSDL I created, I get this error: Error: Unable to import binding 'SomeBinding' from namespace 'SomeNS'. Unable to import operation 'someOperation'. These members may not be derived. I'm using the document-literal style, and to the best of my knowledge I'm following all the rules. To sum it up, I have a valid WSDL, but the tool wsdl.exe example doesn't like it. What I'm looking for is if someone has lots of experience with the wsdl.exe tool and knows about some secret gotcha that I don't. .net soap wsdl share|improve this question edited Nov 24 '15 at 17:56 BartoszKP 22.4k84167 asked Sep 16 '08 at 21:49 Glenn Moss 3,84632221 1 Take a look at this article. –Steven Mar 4 '14 at 15:24 add a comment| 4 Answers 4 active oldest votes up vote 34 down vote accepted I have came across to the same error message. After digging for a while, found out that one can supply xsd files in addition to wsdl file. So included/imported .xsd files in addition to .wsdl at the end of the wsdl command as follows: wsdl.exe myWebService.wsdl myXsd1.xsd myType1.xsd myXsd2.xsd ... Wsdl gave some warnings but it did create an ok service interface. share|improve this answer edited Nov 19 '15 at 15:33 BartoszKP 22.4k84167 answered Jan 23 '09 at 14:05 thehhv 2,15111417 add a comment| up vote 6 down vote sometimes u have to change ur code. the message part-names should not the same ;) ASP.NET Community Standup Forums Help Home/ASP.NET Forums/Advanced ASP.NET/WCF, ASMX and other Web Services/Web service client error - "Unable to import binding" Web service client error - "Unable to import binding" [Answered]RSS 13 replies Last post Oct 07, 2008 11:47 AM by hapax_legomenon ‹ Previous Thread|Next Thread › Print Share Twitter Facebook Email Shortcuts Active Threads Unanswered Threads Unresolved Threads Support Options Advanced Search Reply hapax_legome... This is justa test page, so see if I can do it, https://forums.asp.net/t/1330261.aspx?Web+service+client+error+Unable+to+import+binding+ before I continue adding more code. But when I build my web page I get the error: Unable to import binding 'SimpleServiceSOAP' from namespace 'http://ttdev.com/ss'.App_WebReferences/JavaConcat/ (I can't even build the page, so I haven't added any code yetto send parametersto the web service.) From searching the web, it sounds like the problem might be with my WSDL. Here's the SimpleService.wsdl, as it appears in my .NET probject after importing the web reference using the Visual Studio 2008 GUI.
