There seems to wii troubleshooting manual be some problems with my Wii and its abiliy to read discs. Starting a while back it would stop reading discs and instead give a message akin to "Unable to read the disc. Please refer http://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4069/~/error-message%3A-unable-to-read-the-disc-%2F-disc-could-not-be-read to the Wii operations manual". I tried several other games, but to no avail. It even started giving a message that reads something like "An error has occurred. Press the Eject Button and remove the disc, then turn off the Wii console and refer to the Operations Manual.", however I cannot seem to find anything helpful in the manual. I have tried searching the internet but have not found http://www.gamespot.com/forums/nintendo-fan-club-1000001/unable-to-read-the-disc-error-27531885/ anything useful -- until yesterday. I was told I could try cleaning it with a vacuum cleaner, and so I did. Now it is able to recognize the game inserted, but if I try to start the game, the Wii will try to load it, but will give the error message "An error has occurred. Press the Eject Button and remove the disc, then turn off the Wii console and refer to the Operations Manual." after a while. Now, interesting to note, this concerns only Wii games, as it plays GameCube games with absolutely no problems. Would any of you have any helpful things to say? Does anything need to be replaced? Is there anything wrong with the lens? I appreciate all and any help. tl;dr: Wii does not read Wii games, but reads GameCube discs without problems. What do I do?
