An easy fix is for you to change the port to a free one, 3050 perhaps by changing the ntopng.conf file in /etc/ntopng/ntopng.conf. Add the line "-w=3050"(i.e if you choose to use port 3050). Restart ntopng, all should be well. share|improve this answer edited Jul 2 '14 at 11:49 petrus 4,8151937 answered Jul 2 '14 at 11:20 Uche Ukonu Jnr 111 add a comment| up vote 0 down vote I also had the problem. This is how I solved it: Using other ports than 3000 didn't work. I then followed the instructions in the README.SSL and created an SSL certificate. That done, the warnings about the SSL disappeared but [HTTPserver.cpp:371] ERROR: Unable to start HTTP server (IPv4) on port 3000 remained. After long googling I found this: http://ntop.unipi.narkive.com/7c9xgPAQ/ssl-public-trusted-certificate. The symbolic link for the certificate must point to ln -s /usr/lib/libssl.so in certain distributions, and openssl-devel must be installed. After that,
Post #1 of 1 (459 views) Permalink SSL ERROR Greetings, Recently installed ntop https://forums.freebsd.org/threads/27965/ via rpmforge and yum for Centos 5 (32-bit). When trying to access with https, I see unable to a lot of these in the logs: Feb 21 16:16:19 ns2 ntop[29550]: warning: can't get client address: Bad file descriptor Feb 21 16:21:02 ns2 ntop[29550]: SSL(read)ERROR [Thread 29550]: error:140780E5:SSL routines:SSL23_READ:ssl handshake failure at s23_lib.c(142) unable to start I've been searching, reading, but haven't found the answer. I suspect it has to do with the server certificate. Since I don't have the source, how would I go about creating a self-signed certificate and install it? Can I just use another cert (ca.pem) created for another purpose?
