Want to Advertise Here? unable to read list of values in oracle forms Solved FRM-40502: ORACLE error: unable to read list of values. Posted on 2005-01-28 Oracle Database 1 Verified Solution 6 Comments 13,936 Views Last Modified: 2013-12-12 I have a button that has a trigger WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED which calls the Show_LOV function in Forms that will then return a TRUE or FALSE boolean value. If true will display the LOV based on my result set from the query. If I look at the LOV I see the Record group. I go to the record group and look at the query and everything is fine. I even run the query separately in TOAD and still all the data comes up fine as the same user I'm logged in as. But in the FORM I get this error. Here's the info on this error: Cause: A fatal error occurred while trying to read a list of values. Action: Contact your DBA or an Oracle support representative. Level: >25 Type: Error But nothing is wrong with the database. This is on Oracle 9i Developer Suite Forms connected to an Oracle 9i database on Windows XP. Turns out I didn't have privileges set in our security tables even though I could read the query via TOAD. I'll close this question. Unable to read list of values [message #477130] Tue, 28 September 2010 23:06 rkgoyal98 Messages: 39Registered: October 2009 Member Hello, We have recently shifted our database from 10G to 11G and after the intial hickups most of the thinghs have stablised. We had changed system by Alter System command so that database does not have case sensevity problem and with that all the reports from the forams have also stabilied However some of the forms are failing with the above error ORACLE ERROR Unable to read list of values These form are running fine with users having DBA privelege. However other users this is failing. We have also checked that with users not having DBA privelege we are https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/21293187/FRM-40502-ORACLE-error-unable-to-read-list-of-values.html able to read the data in the table within the form also. The query in the record group is very simple "SELECT CODE,SHORTDESC FROM GENCODES WHERE CODETYPE='BS' AND CODE <> '00'" All these forms were fine previously when database was on 10g. Moreover there are many other fields where list of values are there and allthose are ruing fine. I have also checked datatype and length in query as well as fields on the form Kindly tell http://www.orafaq.com/forum/t/161940/ me how can i resolve this Regards Report message to a moderator Re: ORACLE ERROR Unable to read list of values [message #477145 is a reply to message #477130] Wed, 29 September 2010 01:05 Littlefoot Messages: 20850Registered: June 2005 Location: Croatia, Europe Senior MemberAccount Moderator Well, you could try to delete both List of Values and the Record Group. Then create them from scratch, so that you'd do EVERYTHING new (query, column mappings). I can't tell it'll help, but - there's nothing smart I can suggest. Strangely enough in one of the form the same list of values is working fine for all the users and i had compared all the properties in lov, record group and field in the form, everything is same. It looks realy weird.
