License key is invalid. My questions to you are: 1) Removing the infragistics line from the Licenses.licx in the solution causes the build to work just fine - but what effect is this having on our application? 2) Does installing the infragistics components require an active net connection? Is there any way of doing an offline install or copying the config details from an existing install to get this onto the build server? 3) Installing onto the build server is a last resort, is there any other way we can get around the licx compilation issue (i.e. by telling the licx compiler to look at our lib folder)? It is required only at design time. So if you clear it out, nothing bad happens to your compiled application. Clearing out that file has been a resolution for different issues in the past. I think it'd be easier for you to have a task in MSBuild clear out any license

Recently we've started automating our build system using several different products. what is infragistics Everything is working well, but we hit a minor snag in LC.exe under certain circumstances. I'm hoping http://www.infragistics.com/community/forums/t/41706.aspx someone with intimate knowledge of LC.exe could shed some light on this problem. We use the following on our Build Server:FinalBuilderFinalBuilder ServerCruise Control .NETWe also use ComponentOne libraries for the build and these are causing the problem. I https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/vstudio/en-US/f8f4590f-cf5e-4593-8848-960fa460aa07/lcexe-with-msbuildexe?forum=msbuild suspect that it's not related directly to these components or their versions because under certain conditions they work, others it fails during LC.exe.Remoting into the build server as a domain user and launching a build from Visual Studio or the FinalBuilder IDE gives us a good build. However, if we use FinalBuilderServer (ASP / Web Services) or CruiseControl's Service, the build (using MSBuild.exe) fails with the following exception: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v6.0A\bin\LC.exe [various parameters] ERROR LC0004 in Properties\licenses.licx(1,0) : Exception occurred creating type 'C1.Win.C1Command.C1NavBar, C1.Win.C1Command.2, Version=2.0.20071.19104, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=e808566f358766d8' System.TypeInitializationException: The type initializer for 'do' threw an exception. ---> System.ArgumentException: Parameter is not valid. However using unable to CruiseControl .NET the compile fails stating: error LC0004: Exception occurred creating type 'TXTextControl.TextControl, TXTextControl.Windows.Forms, Version=16.0.100.500, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=6b83fe9a75cfb638' System.Exception: A TextControl cannot be used without a visible display surface. If I login to the CruiseControl server and compile from there it works. Do you know why this error occurs when it compiles through the CruiseControl service? I doubt that CruiseControl .NET can do that. However compiling the project should work without problems as you do not run the EXE. The weird thing is that our Cruise Control just compiles the project, it doesn't try to run the .exe. If logged in to the Cruise control server it works to compile the project without any error. Note that this problem started after we upgraded from version 14 to version 16 of the component. edit: the full error message is this: Code: Properties\licenses.licx(1): error LC0004: Exception occurred creating type 'TXTextControl.TextControl, TXTextControl.Windows.Forms, Version=16.0.100.500, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=6b83fe9a75cfb638' System.Exception: A TextControl cannot be used without a visible display surface.
