Things are different if you are connecting the Express to an modem.Post back to tell us what model of Express you have in that case, and what operating system you are using. It sounds like you are no longer using OS X (10.6.x) as you indicate in your profile.Once you have the Express configured and the settings have been updated, you can disconnect the Ethernet cable. But interestingly, (like my system Acer Aspire 9500, and also tried on Acer Aspire 3003) some versions of OS X dvd can be started and installed with no problem in VMWare!- on some systems, neither of the boot dvd or VMWare works, but deadmoo still works...If you think that you have mixture of main compatible hardwares (main board's chipsets, PATA,SATA controller, and CPU of course) in your system that is proven to work on other systems, but just for some reason, you are unlucky, but pationate and patient and have some free time you can give my method a try... We want to keep it as accurate as possible, but please, do not entirely rely on this list when buying a portable computer. Don't forget to add how you got OSx86 running on your portable x86 computer, and to use proper English. Please see the discussion page for proper instructions on how to input your system specs. Also, please contribute to the HCL 10.5.1 page, which should list a more granular view of compatibility. If your computer isn't listed, you should try it if you have a SSE2 or higher processor. Use vanilla kernel if it is supported. ONLY add hardware that you have TESTED. Don't add hardware just because you think it might work. Please add hardware into tables.
