IPsentry is running as a service on a local admin account. Everything appears to run fine. However when you open IPsentry and vbs 0x80070005 go to edit devices you get the following MSG. This happens no matter who you log into the PC which, domain admin or anything. Run-Time error '-2147024891 (80070005)': Access is denied Now if you pause ipsentry, it scrolls through generating stat report and give an error MSG in red Error -2147024891: Access is denied. : During Checking Time I figured maybe something happened to file permissions or HD space? But the drive which the logs point to in system options has 70gb free. I reset permissions and even gave the local user account who the service runs as full rights but still now go. Thoughts? No one can edit devices! It is available at http://support.microsoft.com/?id=978835 Posted by DKSchmidt on 1/21/2010 at 6:38 AM This problem had us bugged down for a week before we found this issue page. It works fine on 2008 Server and on Windows 7 Pro - but the main development workstation running XP nothing works. Because of an update for a completely different issue, we'll now have to deliver a system that saves potentially big files in VARBINARY(MAX) fields directly in the table. It's harsh, but this may be a big incitament for developers to move to Vista/7? Please fix this in time for my next project. Following the line number, I would turn my attention to permissions, are you logged on as an administrator? What is the script trying to achieve? Does the file or folder referenced need admin rights? Windows Update: Access Denied Error Code 80070005 This is often caused because you are not an Administrator, or do not have administrator priveleges. A well phrased problem is half of the cure, and in this case just make sure tht your account has the 'top dog' administrator priveleges, and is using them. Once you have logged off an logged on again (as Admin) just re-apply the Windows Update or hotfix.
