Asp.net Mvc Http Error 403.14 - Forbidden
website up vote 0 down vote favorite We recently created one Development Server and moved the codes to it from Production Server. In Dev server Authentication is being applied through OpenAM Single Sign On. But in Production it's not, i.e Authentication is Forms authentication. All other applications of Dev Server inside the particular website are working except for one application which is giving me this error: 403 - Forbidden: 403 forbidden visual studio Access is denied. You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied. For Example: https://dev.Example.org/Result/Old.asp is working but https://dev.Example.org/Result/New.asp is giving 403 Forbidden Error. I tried several steps mentioned in previous blogs in forum but nothing worked: I checked the App Pools setting in IIS and made sure Application is referring to correct App Pool, checked Web.config to see if runAllManagedModulesForAllRequests is set to True or not. It didn't work. It's strange other application inside same website is working and this one is giving 403 error. Any idea would be greatly appreciated. Thanks c# asp.net share|improve this question edited Apr 7 '15 at 17:19 Keith 11.5k84281 asked Nov 6 '14 at 15:55 TechPro 9512 1 are all the necessary windows features enabled? Are their folder permissions which could be preventing it from working? –user1666620 Nov 6 '14 at 16:04 Thanks for the answer user1666620. I checked, all the Windows Features are enabled. Also, Permissions is set to Everyone with all the access like Read, Write, Execute, Etc. –TechPro Nov 6 '14 at 16:35 have you been able to reproduce the error on your dev environment by changing Authentication methods?

I published my ASP.NET MVC 3 application (It was just the internet template without any changes to it) to see if I could get it to work publically. However, when I visit the site it shows up with a 403 error. Coming from a php/linux background, I'm confused and have no clue where to look. I've only been learning .NET for about 8-9 months http://stackoverflow.com/questions/11043168/403-forbidden-after-publishing-asp-net-mvc and everything I've been testing on before was on the local development server through VS2010. It almost appears like the server doesnt know it should be an MVC application or I have to change my routing. Anyway, I checked to make sure that the server setting is .NET 4. Any help would be greatly appreciated. ALSO, It's a shared hosting environment using arvixe. asp.net .net asp.net-mvc-3 iis share|improve this question asked Jun 15 '12 at 0:27 Anonymous 1,01821327 add a comment| 7 Answers 7 active oldest votes up vote 42 down vote accepted For me this did the trick (Original Answer by Mmerrell at Getting 404.0 error for ASP.NET MVC 3 app on IIS 7.0 / Windows Server 2008 ) You actually just reminded me that I needed to fix this issue in an enviroment here. If your situation is the same as mine then it's a simple fix. Just add the following to your web config:
Board Games Movies Role-Playing Games TV Series Videogames Italiano HTTP Error 403 - Forbidden after ASP.NET MVC Web Application deploy on IIS 7 July 1, 2015August 8, 2015 Ryan Coding, Networking & http://www.ryadel.com/en/error-403-forbidden-after-asp-net-mvc-web-application-deploy-on-iis-7/ Web, Operating Systems, System Configuration The problem A rather common issue when installing an ASP.NET MVC powered by .NET Framework 4 on IIS 7.0 or higher is the sudden appearance of a HTTP Error 403 - Forbidden upon launch: HTTP Error 403.14 - Forbidden - The Web server is configured to not list the contents of this directory. 1 HTTP Error 403.14 - Forbidden - The Web access is server is configured to not list the contents of this directory. The text might vary, but the meat is the same: despite anonymous authentication is enabled and all the permissions are set (IUSR, IIS_IUSRS, NetworkService), the web application refuses to run properly. The fix Well. the first thing to do obviously is to ensure that what we mentioned above is properly set: anonymous authentication must be set access is denied to enabled (Authentication icon in IIS settings) and all the aforementioned users permissions must be properly assigned (filesystem wise). If everything has been handled correctly, you can proceed to add the following section to your web application‘s web.config file:
