Join them; it only takes a minute: Sign up Failed to execute goal … maven-install-plugin … Failed to install artifact … (Access mvn install:install-file access denied is denied) up vote 6 down vote favorite I often getting the following error when compiling a maven project with NetBeans: Failed to execute goal org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-install-plugin:2.3.1:install (default-install) on project xxx: Failed to install artifact yyyy: C:\...\.m2\repository\...\yyyy-1.0.0.jar (Access is denied) -> [Help 1] I don't know what is causing it. Solution is to erase the problematic .m2 content manually and the issue goes. But it is annoying. Anyone has a permanent solution? Double check the -Dfile option as it looks like your referring to a directory, instead of a file. Can you confirm the following is what you are executing: mvn install:install-file -DgroupId=com.google.gdata -DartifactId=gdata-docs -Dversion=3.0 -Dpackaging=jar -Dfile=C:\Users\admin\rsmart-gdoc\gdata\java\lib -DgeneratePom=true John On 5 March 2012 08:32, jehan <[hidden email]> wrote: > Dear All > > I am using windows 7, > when installing a library using command > *mvn i
