I try running the dd bs=1M if=C:\... line on the ISO file and a USB drive but I http://www.mydellmini.com/forum/dell-mini-9-os-x-discussion/14798-dd-exe-access-denied-windows-7-a.html keep getting "Error writing file: 5 Access is denied" I got it to work once (copied 54 files?) but the Mini kept rebooting over and over again. I tried doing an xcopy on a mounted image (Virtual Drive) and that didn't work. I'm about to pull my hair out! Can anyone give me some help. BTW... I have NO access to a mac. alewjr View Public Profile Send a private message to alewjr Find all posts by alewjr (#2) alewjr Junior Member Posts: 3 Join Date: Mar 2009 11-03-2009, 05:36 PM Ok, got the access denied situation fixed: Open cmd (Administrator) window. Type: 1. diskpart 2. select disk # (whichever one is your USB) 3. clean 4. create partition primary 5. select partition 1 6. active 7. format fs=fat32 8. exit There was a step between 7 and 8 where you type "assign" but I found that not assigning it let you do the dd.exe line. My new issue is that the SnowLeopard Install USB comes up with "Mach_Kernel missing" error. What am I doing wrong? I don't have access to OSX so I can't format OSX Extended. Will FAT32 work? alewjr View Public Profile Send a private message to alewjr Find all posts by alewjr (#3) alewjr Junior Member Posts: 3 Join Date: Mar 2009 11-04-2009, 06:25 AM GROAN... This worked: dd bs=1M access is if=debian-live-6.0.6-amd64-gnome-desktop.iso od=I: In particular, the 'od=' switch is not documented (I would guess that 'od' means 'output device'). Now that I can/have run Debian-Gnome, I have some studying to do. My first objective is to get WiFi working. Wish me luck, and thanks for your help.
