This is mostly likely caused by the app pool identity not having permissions to the root folder of the site. Also check that there is a default page configured in the root folder in the site and that the default page is listed in the default documents list for the site. http://forums.asp.net/t/1803789.aspx/1 Peter Viola MCTIP SA, EST, DBA 2008 MCSA Windows Server 2012 Please 'Mark as Answer' if this post helps you. www.peterviola.com Reply kctt 1172 Posts Re: 403 - Forbidden: Access is denied Jun 11, 2013 02:28 AM|kctt|LINK You can configure application pool to run as Network Service and grant Network Service permission on website home folder. I have a folder 'demo' in the root and it contains 'demo.aspx'. It was working well http://forums.asp.net/t/1744669.aspx?403+Forbidden+Access+is+denied+Error+while+browsing+in+IIS7 for all link expect for route DemoFirstLayerRoute. It is giving 403 - Forbidden: Access is denied. Error while browsing in IIS7 error. In IIS directory browsing is disabled. Is there any way that my DemoFirstLayerRoute can work. My routing table code is as follows RouteTable.Routes.MapPageRoute("DefaultRoute", "", "~/Default.aspx"); RouteTable.Routes.MapPageRoute("DemoThirdLayerRoute", "Demo/{tContent2}/{tContent3}", "~/Demo/Demo.aspx"); RouteTable.Routes.MapPageRoute("DemoSecondLayerRoute", "Demo/{tContent2}", "~/Demo/Demo.aspx"); RouteTable.Routes.MapPageRoute("DemoFirstLayerRoute", "Demo", "~/Demo/Demo.aspx"); RouteTable.Routes.MapPageRoute("PageNotFoundRoute", "{*url}", "~/PageNotFound.aspx" Default.aspx <%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="Default.aspx.cs" Inherits="DemoWeb.Default" %>
