have not found one.I get an An unrecoverable processor error has occurred andthen VPC crashes, this seems to happen randomly, andoften. Not the easiest way to do QA as it said in theadvert!!I am running XP ProAthlon XP512Mb RAMVPC2004The guest OS is windows 98 SE. I found one article but itwas related to Linux so was no use at all - please someonehave the answer :)CheersChris Benjamin Armstrong [MSFT] 2004-04-12 22:54:34 UTC PermalinkRaw Message Generally speaking - when you see an unrecoverable processor error in thevirtual machine - you have just done something that would have caused aphysical machine to crash. Do you have anything installed in the virtualmachine that might have problems running on an Athlon XP? Also - have youinstalled all the latest updates for Windows 98?--Cheers,Benjamin Armstrong======================Virtual PC Program ManagerThis posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. You assume all risk for your use.Post by ChrisHi,I have searched through this forum and through theknowledge base for an answer but have not found one.I get an An unrecoverable processor error has occurred andthen VPC crashes, this seems to happen randomly, andoften. 'Unrecoverable processing error occurred" http://www.winvistatips.com/threads/unrecoverable-processor-error.513292/ any ideas? Nick Kwiatkowski [Michigan State University] Unrecoverable processing error occurred December 16, 2009 04:01 PM (in response to Jeff Lovette) i've seen this when the web-server gets hosed. You will need an unrecoverable to reboot your server by using the command-line. SSH into the server, and issue the command stop -r . This command is service-effecting, and will most likely knock you out of service for about 10 minutes. Kosie Du Plooy [INOVO Communications] Web page issue December 17, 2009 04:45 AM (in response to Jeff Lovette) I had a similar issue before and the only way for me an unrecoverable processor to get past this without going to AVAYA was by reloading the S8300 with CM and do a restore of translations. I also tried a reboot but Server never recovered which forced me to reload. I would just make sure I have a backup of the translations before I reboot it.. Jeff Lovette [NetLert Communications] Unrecoverable processing error occurred December 17, 2009 08:25 AM (in response to Jeff Lovette) Thanks for the feedback. we have tried to restart a few times, but no luck. We have noticed though our logs are full and it has filled up our disk drive. Any idea on how to delete logs? That could be the cause of this. see below for our disk space issues. processor error has been encountered. The virtual machine will reset now." My Host OS is Win2K, 2.4GHz cpu, 1 gig ram. I have one NT 4 server loaded and one XP Loaded with no problems. I need all three for a class. Has anyone seen this error ?? Cliff, Jun 5, 2004 #1 Advertisements Scott Baker Guest Yes, set the memory for the VM down to 64MB during the installation. Once NT is installed, you can increase the RAM to the level you want. Scott Cliff wrote: > I'm trying to load NT 4 server as a guest OS. I'm still getting the error. Sounds like we are doing the same thing. I'm setting up a PDC, BDC and a client to practice upgrading to 2003. But I can't get my BDC up. The other two are running fine. cliff, Jun 5, 2004 #3 Benjamin Armstrong [MSFT] Guest How did you create this image? Unrecoverable processor errors are displayed when a physical machine would normally spontaneously reset. -- Cheers, Benjamin Armstrong ====================== Virtual PC Program Manager This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
