from Drupal 4.7.x to Drupal 5.0RC1, I encountered the following error: Fatal error: Call to undefined function: filter_xss_bad_protocol() ... fatal error call to undefined function php includes/common.inc on line 837 After much online research, file verification and a database restore, I found the problem: a typo. When running http://example.com/update.php at the end of the upgrade, I made a typo and entered http://example.com/updates.php in the URL entry field of my browser. Lesson learned: If you encounter the error above, check for typos. I hope this writeup helps the next person to make this typo... Shortly after I upgraded to the new security release 6.x-2.6 yesterday, I started seeing the error message below instead of https://www.drupal.org/node/106156 the content of my pages: Fatal error: Call to undefined function filter_xss_bad_protocol() in /home/site/public_html/includes/common.inc on line 1053 for every page on my site including user and admin pages. My site is only usable again after I delete the 6.x-2.6 files and replace them with the 6.x-2.5 version I was using before. The error is displayed even after I disable all the other Domain related https://www.drupal.org/node/921984 modules. Is there anything I can do to resolve this issue other than going back to 6.x-2.5? Why would it not be present? Are you using aggressive page caching? Any page caching? This is not something I have been able to replicate. I don't suppose you can find out what in the call stack is invoking this function? I checked and the filter module was active (according to the module page and status set to 1 in the database) and there were no issues when I was running 6.x-2.5. I was not using aggressive page caching but I do use boost and memcache. I disabled boost and memcache, upgraded to 6.x-2.6 again and restarte

I have installed drupal hundreds of times - and on other hosts and my own, I never run into any issues. This leads me to believe that there are certain server configurations that will cause drupal to not load files correctly. I have checked all the permissions - and infact have maxed out the permissions on all of the files in all Drupal directories (just to make sure that wasn't the problem). At any rate, I'll let you all know if I find a solution or a root cause. andre Log in or register to post comments Same problem Heine commented August 8, 2005 at 12:59pm The website of our group stopped functioning around 7th of August with this exact error message. I believe this is due to some excessive updating by the hosting company; they changed to Apache 2 (so my .htaccess file had to be fixed). And an empty phplist folder was suddenly in /modules. Fixed everything, but to no avail. The last straw I'm grasping; the PHP version is 4.3.11 whereas the Zend optimizer is just 1.3.0 - this combination seems to result in weird behavior of the foreach loops enumerating the modules. Probably no modu
