Eio.dll is a type of DLL file associated with ASUS EIO.DLL developed by Asustek Computer Inc., for the Windows Operating System. The latest known version of Eio.dll is 1.8.2.0, which was produced for Windows. This DLL file carries a popularity rating of 1 stars and a security rating of "UNKNOWN". What Are DLL Files? DLL ("dynamic link library") files such as eio.dll are small programs, similar to EXE ("executable") files, which allow multiple software programs to share the same functionality (eg. printing). For example, let's say you are running Windows and editing a document in Microsoft Word. The DLL file that controls printing does not need to load unless it's function is needed - eg. you decide to print your document. When you select "Print", Microsoft Word calls the printer DLL file, and it is loaded into memory (RAM) at that time. If you want to print a document in another program, Adobe Acrobat for example, that same printer DLL file will be used as well. Why Do I Have DLL Errors? Because they are shared files, DLL files exist outside of the software application itself. Although this provides many benefits for software developers, this separation also provides an opportunity for problems to occur.Quite simply, if Windows cannot properly load your eio.dll file, you will encounter an error message. Please see "Causes of eio.dll Errors" below for more information. When Do DLL Errors Occur? DLL errors, such as those associated with eio.dll, most often occur during computer startup, program startup, or while trying to use a specific function in your program (eg. printing). Common Eio.dll Error Messages The most common eio.dll errors that can appear on a Windows-based computer are: "Eio.dll not found." "The file eio.dll is missing." "Eio.dll Access Violation." "Cannot register eio.dll." "Cannot find C:\Windows\System32\\eio.dll." "Cannot start ASUS EIO.DLL. A required component is missing: eio.dll. Please install ASUS EIO.DLL again." "This application failed to start because eio.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." These DLL error messages can appear during program installation, while a eio.dll-related s

Smartdoctor fails to initialize as it cannot load EIO.dll.I have an EN8800 gfx. card and Microsoft Vista 64 bit system. It has worked pretty smooth until I installed the latest Nvidia drivers a few days ago (v.180), then only manual control of the fan worked, the interval settings for different temperature just set the fan to 0 RPM :(. I used Smart doctor v5.15, and decided to upgrade it to v5.21 (initially). After deinstalling the old GamerOSD and the Smartdoctor, this EIO.dll just come up every time. I've checked that the file (EIO.DLL) is installed in the proper folder and is accessible, but no go :/I also tested Smartdoctor v5.28, and the same problem occurs.I've seen a few people that has the same problem, but there are yet to find a good solution. I also noticed that a few people have been recommended by ASUS to reinstall the entire operation system! But that is just ridiculous, more an indication that the technical support people don't have any clue

Googled for an answer and found that tons of people are having this problem but never found an answer. So I digged into it and solved it. This post is to advise, since I also found this problem discussed (but not solved) in a closed thread on this board. Solution: Search the registry for eio.dll The first reference to it will have some nonsensical key name and the following value: C?\Program Files\ASUS\SmartDoctor\EIO.dll Fix this typo to fix the problem (Replace the ? with a : ) Like HP and Compaq before them, ASUS appears to have a programming quality problem. And, of courwe, there is absolutely no reference to this problem on the ASUS web site, although the problem's been around for almost a year. I did a Google and it told me to change the name of something in the registry, so I did that but it's still coming up. Any ideas? Thanks. Now, go back in normal mode, and see if the problem is solved. If you use Vista or Win7, you go "back in time" to the last restore point made by Windows to a point where your problem did not exists. To do this, boot from Vista/Win7 disk, click on the repair Windows link button, and then click on "System Restore", you may need to wait a few seconds before a wizard pop-up, when it does, follow it. Files in your profile will not be affected, everything else in the system drive, will. __________________ Nv GPU Pro - Automate your graphic card overclock base on what you run, reduce power and noise. I never used them. From my knowledge you have a computer speed/temperature monitor which you can find hundred of them free on the internet which provides you full system details/temperature as well. And overclock your system while in Windows, which you can do in your BIOS. Clearly ASUS doesn't know how to program or well test their software actually. If that fixes the probl
