push this through the paper-path of the printer - this will help to possibly reset that switch, and will help push anything else out that's in the way that canon pixma mp170 manual may be blocking it.After trying everything else suggested on other sites, i tried this and it worked. I used a piece of 90 lb. drawing paper, and it took a fair amount of force to push it through. After pushing for a bit, i opened the cover and used a tweezers to pull the piece of paper the rest of canon pixma mp170 ink the way through (and it didn't rip because it's 90lbs.). Then i turned the printer back on and the error message was gone. by Anonymous on Aug 13, 2007 at 4:51pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 The "experts" probably stole the suggestion off of this site. There's a long running Dell printer thread that's close to 200 posts where people have followed the exact same advice. is always telling me there is a paper jam, but there isn't. I get a message on screen telling me to clear the jam and then press the OK button on the printer. XXXXXX XXXXXXX Submitted: 4 years ago. Category:Printers Share this conversation Expert: Andy replied4 years ago. Hello,Welcome to JustAnswer !! I am Andy and I will be glad to help you out with your issue today. This problem can happen because of following reasons : 1. There is some piece of paper / paper clip / sticker stuck inside printer and you are not able http://www.justanswer.com/printers/5pdzn-canon-pixma-mp170.html to access it. In this case you need to remove all ink cartridges, turn off printer, then turn it upside down and shake it few times. If still not working then you need to open it up as much you can to see if something is stuck2. The electric sensor which receives signal from the mechanical paper sensor to detect jam has issues. Either there is dust on it or its gone bad and needs replacement. You should first open up the printer and blow air in it (using compressed air can) to remove all dust. If it doesnt work then this repair will cost you much more than buying a new Printer. If its in warranty certainly call CanonFeel free to ask any question or concern you may have.
