The prerequisite for the steps below is that _your canon pixma printer error 5200 Canon is powered up, configured, & WiFi connected to your LAN_. Here's what I did *that worked*:• Delete any previously installed (i.e., non-working) printers for the Canon• Download the basic Mac installation software for your Canon model at this link, *making sure that you're installing the Canon Networking software* (it may be a separate link, or it could be bundled into their basic install - YMMV):http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=SupportIndexAct• Download the latest printer driver for your model, same link as above. I used it last week and it was fine but I've been trying to get it to print for two days and cannot figure out whats wrong.I have a Pixma MG6600, connected via wifi to a Macbook Pro running Mavericks 10.9everytime I try to print, it says printing and a paper will run through the printer but it comes out blank. Then my queue says communication error and gives me a 306 code.I tried reconnecting the printer, I deleted it and reinstalled everything not 10 minutes ago and it's still giving me this error. I can't print via USB because my laptop doesn't have a battery so I can't move it. I tried printing via google cloud and nothing happened there either. Not sure what else I can do, any help would be greatly appreciated 2 people had this problem. I searched several key strings and didn't find what I was looking for. I'm having a very frustrating problem with a new Pixma Pro 100 printer and I'm not sure what else to try. Every time I try and print, I get an error 306 - communications error - and the printer stops responding. Sometimes this is in the middle of a job, wasting expensive paper and ink. I've searched the web and tried many solutions, including: Reinstalling the driverRepairing PermissionsGiving the printer a dedicated IPResetting the printerRestarting the printerRestarting the computer I've tried most of these more than once. I'm not in a position to connect the printer via ethernet to the Airport, and connecting via USB everytime I want to print something would be a pain. (One of the major selling points was WiFi printing) Has anyone else experienced this, and can you think of anything else I should try ?
