Internet Explorer). I finally decided today to uninstall and then reinstall Adobe Reader 9.2 to see if that would fix the problem. I went to the website, downloaded the .exe, and attempted to install it. 5.7% of the way into it, it stopped and displayed this error in a popup:"Adobe has detected a corrupt file (checksum error). The program has been closed without installing.Info ID: 6800.346.14.2.20034Please send the Info ID to http://www.adobe.com/misc/bugreport.html"I've searched for hours now trying to find an answer. I've found very little even relating to this error. Adobe hasn't responded yet (not that I thought they would). I downloaded other applications to delete any leftover files in case the uninstall didn't cover them. I have no clue what else to try at this point. 0_o I have the same question Show 0 Likes(0) 4064Views Tags: none (add) This content has been marked as final. Show 6 replies 1. J KellyJanuary 16, 200719 0 0 0 Good post on resolving a problem I also had with installing Adobe Reader 8 on Vista. There seem to be many symptoms to this problem and the root cause is that Adobe rar file checksum error has tried to apparently make the setup too smart and it ends up getting winrar crc error file corrupt tricked up by something on Vista. The workaround is to catch the installation files after the self-extracting executable has extracted them, but before it fails to start the install, and copy the files to another directory. This is because the oh-so-smart Adobe installer deletes the files after it fails to install them. Copy them to a https://forums.adobe.com/thread/517191 safe place, then manually run the installation, which will work. Hopefully Adobe will investigate this problem, which seems it may be related to User Account Control on Vista, and fix it in their installer.
