Contact Asus directly anyway and ask them if there is anything else you can do. Perhaps there's some way to flash it or do something else only Asus would know to do. They will advise you further. If you've already replaced the battery I'm sorry to say I don't think you're going to hear https://www.quora.com/How-can-I-fix-it-if-I-get-a-CMOS-checksum-error-battery-replaced good news from Asus. They'll probably want you to ship it to them for repair and pay for the return shipping as well, since it's not under warranty. However, this is not what I would suggest. I'd say go get a new motherboard, because paying to repair yours is probably going to cost enough that you might as well just buy a new P5B-SE. Of course, I don't think you'll be able to find a new one, so you'll need a different one. If you go that route, you'll probably need a new processor at least, and probably new ram, but it's about time for you to upgrade anyway. Also, don't buy Intel unless you really feel like you need it for a specific purpose. It's overpriced and not rarely provides performance gains that are notable as a generic or even power user. AMD is much more robust in its ability to upgrade and maintain system continuity in a situation like this. Their Zambezi architecture is actually really powerful in applications that utilize several cores, and overclocking AMD processors is a matter of temperature mainly. They're very sturdy and can handle a lot of OV as long as

The computer may not have been shut down properly e.g. shutting off the computer’s main power without first shutting down the computer (MS Windows requires the computer to be shut down before the power is shut off). I have an E6850 + ABIT IN9 32X-Max 680i Motherboard. Every time i power on a computer, I'm given a random CPU speed, like 583 mhz or 734 mhz. The computer recognizes what CPU is inside, it says e6850 @ 3.00ghz, but right above it, it states the actual speed its running at. Now when I try to enter bios all i get is the top left blinking _ thing and it just sits there. Im assuming I need a bios update because our Server computer has all the same parts as these pc's besides the ram and CPU(Quad Core 2.40ghz) and that computers working fine. The ram in these computers is Corsair Dominator pc 8500 2GB(2x1GB) Can anyone confirm that its a bios update thats needed?
