Fairly new to using VBA, specifically user forms and am running into an issue. Here's what I want: Add a message box linked to the submit button of a user form. if the associate answers yes, then submit the information he provided on form. I have the code somewhat figured out but keep getting the "expected expression" error in the msgbox line. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/36201604/expected-expression-error-in-vba Any idea what causes this? Thanks everyone vba share|improve this question asked Mar 24 at 13:40 pgw215 61 1 Msgbox "You have to write something here" you have to give it some expression here. E.g. if i=3 then Msgbox i will popup with the value of i which is 3. See this for info. –newguy Mar 24 at 13:45 yes, you'd need parenthesis as it's returning, so if msgbox("message")=vbyes then... else .... You will also need to specify the buttons, so something like msgbox("message",vbYesNo+vbApplicationModal+vbExclamation,"Error") –Nathan_Sav Mar 24 at 13:50 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote I am not sure were you want to call the messagebox, but here is the idea :) Private Sub CB_Submitted_Click() Range("A1") = "Hello pgw215" 'or 'Range("A1") = TextBox1 End Sub Private Sub UserForm_Initialize() Dim Question As String Dim Answer As Byte Question = "Is your name pgw215?" Answer = MsgBox(Question, vbYesNo) If Answer = 6 Then 'Yes Call CB_Submitted_Click ElseIf Answer = 7 Then 'No ElseIf Answer = 5 Then 'Ignore End If End Sub share|improve this answer answered Mar 24 at 14:46 M.
