MathPlayer Support MathDaisy Support WebEQ Support Support > http://www.dessci.com/en/support/mathtype/tsn/TSN72.htm MathType Support > Technical Support Notices TechNote #72: Last modified: http://producthelp.sdl.com/kb/Articles/3876.html 11/19/15 Compile Error in Hidden Module: AutoExec" or "MTLib Error Message in Microsoft Word The information in this document applies to: MathType 6.x (Windows) Microsoft Word 2003 and later (Windows) Issue Many users, after installing MathType 6.x, find they receive an compile error error message in Microsoft Word either "Compile error in hidden module: AutoExec" when they launch Microsoft Word, or "Compile Error in hidden module: MTLib" when they try to use commands on the MathType menu in Microsoft Word or the MathType toolbar/ribbon in Microsoft Word. Reason MathType includes an add-in for Microsoft Word compile error in which adds the MathType menu and toolbar/ribbon to Microsoft Word. This add-in contains macros written in Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), the macro language used by Microsoft Word. The add-in is placed in Microsoft Word's designated Startup folder. AutoExec is the macro that Microsoft Word automatically executes when launching. MTLib is a library of MathType macros used by the toolbar/tab and MathType menu in Microsoft Word. If there is a problem with your computer's VBA environment, when you launch Microsoft Word, you may receive error messages. Solution To correct this problem, you need to make sure that Microsoft Office components upon which the MathType Commands for Word rely are functioning correctly. You should follow the instructions that we provide for resolving issues using the MathType Commands for Microsoft Word. error commonly occurs when code is incompatible with the version, platform, or architecture of this application. Click "Help" for information on how to correct this error. If you click OK, you get another warning: Microsoft Word The macro cannot be found or has been disabled because of your Macro security settings. The only way to close the warning message and exit Microsoft Word is through the Task Manager. Explanation This problem occurs because the SDL Trados 2007 installation is missing, but TRADOS8.dot(m) still exists in the Microsoft Word startup folder. Whenyou start Microsoft Word, the SDL Trados template tries to load the relevant components. This fails if SDL Trados 2007 is not installed and results in the warning messages described above. Resolution Solution 1 Install SDL Trados 2007. You can download the installation file from your My Account area. Solution 2 Remove/delete TRADOS8.dot(m) from your Microsoft Word startup folder, by default located here: Windows XP: C:\DocumentsandSettings\[USERNAME]\ApplicationData\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP Windows Vista/7: C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP Note The problem described in this article can also be related to other root causes: 1858: Troubleshooting compile errors when starting up and closing Microsoft Word 3016: Resolving connection errors after installing SDL MultiTerm 2009 SP1 and working with SDL Trados Studio 2009 SP1 and SDL Trados 2007 Suite 3147: Resolving connection errors after installing SDL MultiTerm 2009 SP2 and working with SDL Trados Studio 2009 SP2 and SDL Trados 2007 Suite 3420: Various error messages after installing SDL MultiTerm 2009 SP3 (+ Cumulative Update 8/9) 3588: Various error messages after installing SDL MultiTerm 2009 SP4 Refer to KB article #3924 for an overview of all Microsoft Word template-related KB articles.
