Published on Jul 31, 2013Using Windows XP service pack 2 and getting this bug when trying to generate XML using ITR workbook I must admit that this was a strange bug for i personally didn't face it since i have a service pack compile error in 3 for windows XP but few people using service pack 3 also complain of this bug .One of my subscriber's while trying to fill the return (excel workbook ITR 1 )was getting this message .After analysing the message he got via his send email screenshot and going through his comments , i understood that it was not easy for me to replicate the problem because it seemed to be a operating system issue and in my parent laptop ,it didn't seem a good idea to virtualise (create a seperate system for this version of windows XP),so i virtualised my other laptop and yes the bug did came in service pack 2 , .Basically the VB coding done vide modules used to generate the Extended mark up document don't compile properly with versions of windows XP OS lesser than service pack 3 version...so people using windows XP service pack 2 might face this problem ,because when i installed windows XP service pack 2 in one of my 5 laptops , i got the same error ,Firstly pressing alt +F11 opens up the visual basic editor which shows the module which the dev

Creating your account only takes a few minutes. Join Now I have a user with a very interesting Visual Basic error. When executing Excel 2010 for the first time, any instance, we get the same two errors before continuing. (We can click through) "Compile Error in hidden module: MenuAndToolbar"and"Compile Error in hidden module: Utilities." I have tried the following: 1) Uninstall and Re-install2) Backing up registry and deleting all contents of Office (Re-install afterward)3) I checked the developer tab and surely there were items that I could check and clear, but the settings do not save between opening and closing. 4) I have compared .VBA files with another machine to compare the differences and all the .VBA(s) seem to be the same.So really and truly, my problem also may lie in Excel not saving any setting while in the developer tab within 2010. I have also done my fair share of research and wasn't able to gain any ground from any forums. (Which is why I'm asking you spice heads!)Anything further I may try will be greatly appreciated. After three hours of having the machine, not counting the other couple of hours of research, I'm at a loss!
