Published https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/307410 on Jul 31, 2013Using Windows XP service pack 2 and getting this bug when trying to generate XML using ITR workbook I must admit that this was a strange bug for i personally didn't face it since i have a service pack 3 for windows XP but few people using service pack 3 also complain of this bug .One of my subscriber's while trying to fill the return (excel workbook ITR 1 )was getting this message https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=taeQkJ5THvQ .After analysing the message he got via his send email screenshot and going through his comments , i understood that it was not easy for me to replicate the problem because it seemed to be a operating system issue and in my parent laptop ,it didn't seem a good idea to virtualise (create a seperate system for this version of windows XP),so i virtualised my other laptop and yes the bug did came in service pack 2 , .Basically the VB coding done vide modules used to generate the Extended mark up document don't compile properly with versions of windows XP OS lesser than service pack 3 version...so people using windows XP service pack 2 might face this problem ,because when i installed windows XP service pack 2 in one of my 5 laptops , i got the same error ,Firstly pressing alt +F11 opens up the visual basic editor which shows the module which the developer has coded for the excel workbook to work and generate the XML ,Since clicking the XML throws up this error , it can be presumed that the OS with which it does has some compatibility issue ,next would be be to download a patch which enhances XML generation across such bugging operating systems ,So ,being a developer i understood , that the solution then lies in en

The easiest way to do this is to press alt-F11 and then look in all the modules. I assume since it happens on everything you will find it in your always hidden personal workbook. However once you open it there you should be able to quickly find the module on the upper left hand side of the VBA editor and look at the code. If you need any help just post what you find. -SA 0 LVL 92 Overall: Level 92 MS Excel

Unprotect you VBA project and then when it errors out, check which line is giving the error. –Siddharth Rout Apr 25 '12 at 11:18 Thanks for the reply. The workbook is password protected and I'm unable to open that in order to see the code. Do We need to know the password to UnProtect my VBA Project. –ramesh Apr 26 '12 at 4:12 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote I have just solved this problem, maybe it also will help you: go to folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office12\XLSTART" and make sure there is nothing inside this folder. In my case is Office12, maybe in your case is Office14 or other numbers, do the same thin
