Excel starts "Could not load some objects because they are not available on this machine" After several of these, I get "Compile Error in hideen module: OTWrap". Any ideas? I tried reinstalling Office XP to no avail. https://developer.salesforce.com/forums/?id=906F000000094SOIAY Thanks for the help. abryant1960, Apr 27, 2006 #1 Sponsor bomb #21 Joined: Jul 1, 2005 Messages: 8,284 "Compile Error in hidden module" could be related to a dodgy add-in loading during Excel start-up. I couldn't find anything online for "OTWrap" -- can you tell us what's listed under (Tools) Add-Ins? (assuming you can actually run Excel) bomb #21, Apr 27, 2006 #2 Zack Barresse Joined: Jul 25, 2004 Messages: 5,450 https://forums.techguy.org/threads/solved-ot-wrap.462900/ Try to start in safe mode, or holding the shift key while opening the application, then accessing the Tools | Addins menu, disabling all addins and adding them back one at a time to try and find an offending one. If it's not an addin of yours, try opening as I explained and going to Help | Detect and Repair. You can also put your intallation disc back in and run a Repair instead of Install/Uninstall. Google gives just 7 hits for "OTWrap", with none related to computers. Is it me or is that weird? bomb #21, Apr 27, 2006 #4 WendyM Trusted Advisor Joined: Jun 27, 2003 Messages: 4,040 Not just you. I almost wonder whether it's an in-house server name or something, but that doesn't seem to apply here. WendyM, Apr 27, 2006 #5 cristobal03 Joined: Aug 5, 2005 Messages: 3,084 I'm going to speculate. OTWrap sounds like a time-management add-in (since we're talking Excel) to handle overtime across intervals, like weeks of a pay period or days in a week. *shrug* Sounds homebrew to me. chris. cristobal03, Apr 27, 2006 #6 MNG0304 Joined: Mar 2, 2006 Messages: 624 Possi
this when opening Excel, I need help to understand how to fix the problem. I cannot find any information anywhere on the net to fix. I have reinstalled Excel and it did not help. Adobe add-ins I http://www.office-forums.com/threads/compile-error-in-hidden-module-ot-wrap.840210/ have deleted and still get error message. mcrina, Jan 23, 2008 #1 Advertisements Jan Karel Pieterse Guest Hi Mcrina, > I get this when opening Excel, I need help to understand how to fix the > problem. This is a default list of things-to-do compile error when Excel exhibits (startup) problems. Try opening Excel without any addins or hidden workbooks: Start, Run, "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Excel.exe" /Automation Quotes mandatory, Note you may have to change the path. If your error disappears, there is either an add-in or a (hidden) workbook that is loaded upon XL's start, which bothers you. - Try locating the XLSTART directory, move everything from there. - In XL: Tools, Addins, note the ones checked and uncheck them one at the time, compile error in each time restarting XL - In XL, Tools, options, general. Check if a path is entered after "Alternate startup file location". Clear it. Another option is to open XL in Safe mode: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Excel.exe" /Safe Also, you might try: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Excel.exe" /Regserver Yet another possible problem is a corruption of your toolbar customisation file. Locate all files with extension .xlb and rename the extension(s) to something like .old Now try and start XL again. Also, NAV has shown to cause "Excel caused an invalid page fault in module VBE6.DLL". You might try disabling the Office plug in of NAV. Other causes may be a full TEMP folder: In Windows 95/98 and ME Delete all files in C:\Windows\Temp In Windows NT/2000/XP Find and Select C:\Documents and Settings\
