I have distributed an Excel file with quite a bit of VBA and every once in a while I hear from users that it won't work. It usually starts with "Compile error in hidden module..." Though I have not fully isolated the problem (and can not duplicate it), one theory http://www.vbaexpress.com/forum/showthread.php?41297-Solved-64-Bit-Excel is that it is a problem with 64 Bit versions of Office (not a problem on a 64 bit OS). Perhaps this helps? http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/wo...010369476.aspx Reply With Quote 03-09-2012,01:39 AM #2 Jan Karel Pieterse View Profile View Forum Posts View Blog Entries Visit Homepage View Articles MS Excel MVP VBAX Expert Joined Apr 2006 Posts 846 Location Blog Entries1 64 bit Excel is unable to use 32 bit activeX controls for starters. So if your file uses the treeview control or a control from the "common controls" of windows, your workbook will generate compile errors. Also, using Windows API requires special precautions to ensure they work on 64 bit Excel. See: www.jkp-ads.com/articles/apideclarations.asp Finally: you may be using a control that does not appear on some installations of Office. A well known one is the calendar control, that used to ship only with Office professional and was omitted from Office 2010 entirely. Is there any easy way to test this and work on it?

Published on Jul 31, 2013Using Windows XP service pack 2 and getting this bug when trying to generate XML using ITR workbook I must admit that this was a strange bug for i personally didn't face it since i have a service pack 3 for windows XP but few people using service pack 3 also complain of this bug .One of my subscriber's while trying to fill the return (excel workbook ITR compile error in 1 )was getting this message .After analysing the message he got via his send email screenshot and going through his comments , i understood that it was not easy for me to replicate the problem because it seemed to be a operating system issue and in my parent laptop ,it didn't seem a good idea to virtualise (create a seperate system for this version of windows XP),so i virtualised my other laptop and yes the bug did came in service pack 2 , .Basically the VB coding done vide modules used to generate the Extended mark up document don't compile properly with versions of windows XP OS lesser than service pack 3 version...so people using windows XP service pack 2 might face this problem ,because when i installed windows XP service pack 2 in one of my 5 laptops , i got the same error ,Firstly pressing alt +F11 opens up the visual basic editor which shows the module which the developer has coded for the excel workbook to work and generate the XML ,Since clicking the XML throws up this error , it can be presumed that the OS with which it does has some compatibility issue ,next would be be to download a patch which enhances XML generation across such bugging operating systems ,So ,being a develo
30, 2015 Please see what customers are saying about this file: Xavier de Fays - I cant clean install this unit Microsoft USB Mouse shouls be found in seconds, instead. This also applies to an Epson scanner because my Customer has downloaded information before it find the device and it takes about 5 minutes. I can't get it installed no matter what drivers I download or install. Jose Luis Peterson - It would group them to me when i grouped files and folder by name by each letter in windows xp but in windows 7 it group them under A H and I don't want it. All the files and folder that begins with A were under A and so on. Roger Brown - Hey there! Example that cannot be recreated. Please advise. Is there a way to change how Windows 7 does "group by" in folders? Bigger groups and less groups does anyone knows how to separate that into single letter group? USB External Drives, USB Flash Drives "Device Driver Software not successfully Installed". Jerry Chang - Not sure which one I am more frustrated with Acer and Windows 7 problem. I've seen this everywhere in other forums. Acer or MS trying to get decent customer service out of either seems so difficult. OK, its a common enough issue. Yet all work perfectly well on my Vista PC. Виталий Олейник - I have an Acer 533 and every finger points back to MS. USB Flash drives, Jump Drives, Memory Sticks, thumb drives, whatever they are called, they don't work on my Acer laptop. And my work XP so they are not damaged. Also a Freecom External 1tb USB drive. Doesn't work on Win 7. ferenc czompo - Anyway they had a free upgrade to Win 7.which sadly as Windows as an OEM. Acers website doesn't even acknowledge existence of the the model laptop so Microsoft aren't interested in helping saying it's Acer's problem. I have which makes contacting themanyone got a phone number. How much I wish I hadn't. علي احمد - The Vista error message is "Prin
